Congrats to Hanna on the last of those kinds of injections...

I hate needles. I too am glad these are over for a bit.

Hang in there Hanna.

Hugs from Oroville. (Autumn sends her love too.)

Becky just emailed from the hospital with the latest update.

I thought her port had flipped and they were going to have to take her into surgery to fix it. They found out it was just loose so they didn't need to do anything. If it does flip or gets really loose they will have to fix it.

I talked with Hannas dr for a while.... Maintenance starts in about two weeks. It is around a year and half long. It is three cycles that just repeat themselves. He said she will get more spinals then the average kid because she didn't have radiation. so they want to put extra chemo in just incase. She will do steroids only the first five days of each cycle. Methotrexate and 6mp everyday unless counts drop. Then they will stop the two of those until counts go back up. She will be in clinic every two weeks. No bone marrow until the very end. He said the spinal and blood counts really tell them everything they need to know.

well, it sounds like a tough road. but, i am glad that she has progressed far enough that we are now talking about recovery. so, i'm thankful for that. Hanna (and family) continues to be in my thoughts and prayers. thanks for the update.

She's come a long way, yet has a long way left to go. Sounds positive though, praying for her and the family.

Becky just got the results from the school on the tests kids take for ranking in the country. Hayley is in the 75% rating, Hanna is in the 92% rating. Not bad for someone who hardly went to school this year. Needless to say, I`m pretty darn proud of both of them!

I haven't been around in a bit so I'm happy to see she has moved to maintenance. Reading your post about her schedule is like reading my best friends post from a few days ago regarding his daughter who just entered maintenance. A long leg of the journey but a move closer to the end of treatments and getting healthy! She's come a long way and so have you guys, congrats and keep up the great work! Trevor~

From Becky,

After nine very long months Hanna has started maintenance. The past couple of weeks she has handled her at home chemotherapy very well. She is still running around and goofy as ever!!! She goes to clinic on Monday, but only for counts. It's very weird for us not to be there almost everyday! (A good kinda weird) thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers! She still has a very long battle but starting maintenance is a big step in that journey!!

Goofing off with her oncologist

There's that smile,looking good Hanna!
Here's hoping there are no potholes in the long road ahead.
Thanks for the update John.
