Hannibal Lector uses what?

So OP, I'm kind of curious why you are so interested in what weapon a cannibal uses. Should we be worried?

No more worried than we are that you automatically classified a Spyderco Harpy, one of the most innocuous knives I've ever seen, as a weapon. ;)

Actually sir ; I'm new on this forum. I just joined today. So l always wanted to ask that question. I hope it's not causing any trouble.

Not to me it isn't! He does use a Harpy and from what I could tell in the film, it was the plain edge... it's tough to tell but that's what it appears to be to me.

I was just poking fun at skullker for automatically looking at the Harpy like a "cannibal weapon." ;)

I own a serrated one. Plain edge hawk bills never really came of much use to me.

The Harpy is cool-looking but if you had no hawkbills and really wanted one, I'd just try out an Opinel, they make a cheap (quality) hawkbill. I don't have it though because like you, never had much use. But if I get into... getting into people... I know what knife I'll choose I guess.

By the way in the season 2 finale of the TV show Hannibal, Hannibal uses a similar knife. (And gives a nearly word for word Anthony Hopkins monologue to boot!) ;)

I believe it was a linoleum knife.or.one.of his chroma cutlery type 301 kitchen.knives. My Friend thinks it was a case hawk bill primer. BTW l actually had the pleasure of owning an opinel but the tip snapped on a very unfortunate vine cutting incident in.my garfen

Before I checked the thread date, I would have thought this was about the TV series starring Mads Mikkelsen.

I'm always curious how these things happen... are people scrolling through pages and pages just for fun? Searching for a specific topic like Hannibal? ;)

Probably arrived via google or forum search.

Yes, the consensus for the show knife in the finale seems to be a linoleum knife, indeed!

Sorry to hear about your Opinel... luckily they are very affordable! ;)

I actually was to purchase another one but my father then surprised me by buying a Spyderco Harpy for me as a reward for my exceptional grades at my final year in high school. I love that knife. So robust. So versatile. Unfortunately l fear that l may have to throw it away once it becomes dull ; since l have no clue on sharpening a serrated Hawk bill . More over some people on the net said that there is no way to sharpen a serrated Harpy. Is this TRUE ?l doubt a $100 knife is one time use but still.

It's a rare knife now, don't can it! Yes it is certainly possible, harder and perhaps takes more time, but it can be done!

This is an old thread but you may find it useful:

re: the current NBC show, I'm pretty sure they've had a Byrd (couldn't see enough to make out the model) and what seemed to be a Delica in the show a couple of times in this past season.
The kitchen knives Hannibal uses (and his folded-rubber-sheet knife block) have piqued my curiosity a few times, anyone IDed them?

Unfortunately I'm not knowledgeable about kitchen knives... I should start learning though.

There was a Byrd used in the episode where he was kidnapped and nearly killed. Kidnapper used it.

I always thought Hannibal Lector used his teeth...

Alright ; Hannibals kitchen knives are type 301stainless steel knives made by Chroma cutlery. The Delica was used by Carlo in episode 12 to threaten Lecter . Will Graham owned a leatherman Juice. Hannibal also uses a scalpel. BTW I've actually used a type 301 in kitchen work. Pretty over rated design imo.

Hey now... I never said anything about the Harpy! Hence why I used the generic term weapon. and yes, he was a cannibal.
I don't really see it doing much damage anyways.. ;)
