We have fourteen names now,and Uncle bill has given it a green light.
All we need are 50% deposits, which will mean we need a price estimate from Uncle bill and a wooden model from Rod Allen if he can create one or would allow such a thing to be created by someone esle.
Can somone make a model ?

Danny, sorry but I have to pick and choose carefully anymore and long skinny blades just aren't my forte'. However I do love the look of the Wild Hanshee, it's the prettiest long and skinny khuk IMO.:D

The length from tip to pommel is 18.5"

If I knew the Kamis were going to stick to specs I'd go for it, but after the Fox Folly being so much bigger than planned I'll pass.

HD (and esp. Danny), that's the entire point - to get a product the customers want. This whole deal presumes that the Kami's will make it to spec. As Yoda said, "There is no try. There is do or do not." Imagine you ordered a Porche sportscar and got a Volvo truck - nice in its own way, but not the thing. Reaction would be less than happiness.

If the exact blade thickness of the original were communicated to Pala, and he confirmed by email that the kamis were willing to exactly conform to it AND the placement of the cho AT the bolster, I'd go in. (BTW, y'all do appreciate that hanshees are by definition partial tang knives, so the usual HI warranty wouldn't apply to the handle. Given the fact that the Berk special, faithful as it is to the profile of the mold made by Foxjaw from my original (except for moving the cho too far forward!), is still twice as thick, I don't know if HI would warrant the blade either at original thickness. These were not made in 1820 Nepal to cut 2004 American walnut. They are martial knives, designed to cut necks, not wood.) I'm assuming the decorative carving on the handle of the original would not be part of the deal - have never seen any such work from HI, though would be delighted to be wrong (if I could afford it).

P.S.
The Berk special, the Yvsa Cherokee Special, Foxy's Folly, and Pen Knife (to list only the ones that come to mind - if there are others, add 'em to the post) represent serious efforts by the kamis to meet the demands of their crazy American customers. Buy one today. If it isn't in stock, send payment up front, and look forward to its arrival. To paraphrase Freewheelin' Franklin of the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers: "Lots of khukuris will get you through times of no money better than lots of money will get you through times of no khukuris!":D

Would help to have some idea of the price, too.

I'm interested, with due consideration to all of the conditions mentioned in this thread...don't want another Ganga Ram or to pay a Queen's ransom.

Unlce? Can you give us any idea of the price?

Heavy blades should stay where they belong - Ang Kholas, GRSs and the like. Thinner, lighter blades are possible - just look at the 15oz 18" Bura Kobra I have. It's just a matter of convincing the kamis that we won't take their products and try to cut a Chevy truck in half with them.

I need to know a price, I love the way it looks so tell me a bit more and maybe you can count me in.

I have yet to meet a Hanshee that I didn't want to hold.

There's something about the Han""sheeee"" that reminds me of a model posing with her profile turned away just enough to emphasize the
outline. It is so aesthetically pleasing to rub your hand over and along the curvature of that beautiful spine. HO! Excuse me all-- I think I got carried away.Gotta get a grip.

As the old Temptations' song goes, "It's was just my imagination running away with me girl"
;) :D

You can put ArchAngel, ( Rick S. ) on the list for one.;) If the Kamis can get it strait, this will be a great blade. Keep me on the list for one. :D Uncle knows that I can't resist these special projects.;)

Good point. I think on some of the knives descriptions there should be more detail on that point. For instance my 18" Ganga Ram is great on stuff up to about 5" light and sharp enough to cut small limbs, but on thick hard wood the edge rolls. Maybe the description should be more like "can use like a machete or for light chopping" When it reads heavy duty chopper you think you can really pound the wood.

I think I am going to set back and see how close this one comes out for y'all before I try another special project.
