I have been talking with Don over the past few months about my upcoming knife and I managed to convince him ( OK, it didn't really take any convincing to speak of !) to make it a subhilt :D

Envisioned it as a "gent's fighter" rather than a massive one, Damascus blade.

Don dipped into his stash of stag for some really nice amber stag for the handle and......voila !

Blade is 8" and very "sleek"
hilt/subhilt are relatively "subdued" in size

Easier to see in person and very cool is how the Damascus pattern matches up along the demarcation between the upper and lower grinds

Enjoy

Quite a grind. This knife is very unique and has a different look then any other hansons I've seen. Maybe its that grind. Very nice.

Wow that is nice there seems to be know knife that Don cant hit out of the park. amber stag subhilt home run. and that grind just pulls it all together.

Bill, this was a very good project. Always a pleasure working with you.

Coop did a fine job also.

The good words are much appreciated, folks!

Bill, that's a darn nice sub hilt! It's different than most bladesmith made sub hilts. Very distinctive. And Don, I'm glad Bill didn't have to work too hard to get you to build this knife. It's great!

That's a beauty Bill - congrats to you and Don both. Gorgeous damascus and suhweeeet stag.

Bill,

Great get! Another great piece from Don. The steel looks superb and sports a beautiful piece of stag. This is a very classy and elegant piece to say the least. Gent's Sub-Hilt of the highest standard!!

Congratulations, Jon

One unique, sweet subhilt! Really like the size, bet it is light and fast in hand. Great flow and grind going here. For a knifemaker that has been not feeling well, Don seems to be keeping his customers healthy! :p :D

Congrats Bill & Don! Classy result.

That is some great stag and steel and fittings.
I also agree with Joe P, no matter how humble Don is.

Congrats, awesome snag, Bill !

I wish you well to own it.....you lucky bugger:o

That is just beautiful. I'm not a big subhilt fan but that is the exception to me. Congrats on the wonderful knife.
