Here's an excerpt from Don about this blade:

Hi Mike,

Wow, that's a blast from the past. I'm pretty sure I made this knife in 1996, and this is some of my first damascus. I did not do the engraving though, not sure who or when that was done. Good stag was plentiful back then also...

Thanks,
Don

HI Mike, could you please post pics of the springs and the underside (with blades closed)? I'd like to see the width of the knife and also how the blades lay while closed.

Thanks!

Glad to, Matt, altho my photos, well, suck...

And as always I'll take the knife back if not satisfied.
Width @ center of knife: 5/8", @ bolster -1/2".

Mike

Mike, I think I can comment here since I made the knife. I got in trouble for commenting on another sale thread, it's no longer allowed unless one is interested in buying.

I made very few multi blades and this was one of the best I did back then. It's a three spring, hump back whittler with natural amber stag (not dyed). Wish I could buy stag like that now days.

Very good price on this one, guys, ya can't go wrong at this price. If I were to make one like this today (which I will not), it would cost around $2000.

Thank You Mike, I appreciate the opportunity of owning a Hanson.

Thank you Don for your comments. I still have a slimline stag trapper of yours I hope I will only have to bequeath. Not only that, I have a beautiful mastadon wharny liner of yours I treasure.

I'm looking forward to some on your new slippies... (hint, hint).

Mike
