Hey, Don. I picked up one of your sunfish pattern knives from Steve Berg from last years New York show (the one with the beautiful blue mammoth slabs).

I'm curious from a functional perspective where the sunfish pattern came from. For some reason I have this hazy memory of it relating to horse's hooves, but that could just be a goofy memory trick on elephant toenail.

Michael, well uh thanks :)

Gabe, that sunfish you got has the best ivory scales I have ever used or seen. I hope you like it. The sunfish or elephant toenail was used years ago for a heavy duty work knife by carpenters and others. I don't know of any reffrence to horse hooves though.
Gabe I must say, my son is a big fan of yours, great game.

Thanks, Don
