Happy 20th Anniversary Blade Forums. Stop in and say hello.

Happy Anniversary! And to echo Blues.... what a long strange trip it's been.

I think I miss the Mighty Vampire Gerbil the most.... perhaps my most favorite internet person ever.

Elliot my friend, the changes we've seen in the industry in 20 years here. The friends we've made and the ones we've lost during that time, It's people like you who made this place what it is. Yea, it sure has been a long strange trip but I couldn't think of a better place to take it or better people to embark on it with.

One of these years my friend we'll meet face to face at one of the shows and shake hands.

Thanks for the good thoughts, Ted. Sounds like a plan. Until then...be well and be safe.

I just realized my 12th anniversary was just a couple weeks ago. I can't thank Spark and the moderators enough. I really enjoy this place and am glad to know and to have met more people than I can mention.

Thanks for this thread, Ted!

Wow...I joined BF when I first got on the Internet. That would have been late 1998 or early '99. It was the first forum I ever joined. I don't always post, and there have been times I've taken time away from here...months, sometimes years(?), as my interest has waxed and waned. It's amazing that BF is still going as strong as ever, when many other types of discussion forums seem to be drying up. I still am a perpetual student of things sharp. I still haven't learned to post pics online, either! :)

Many thanks to all who have made this place what it is!

Jim

I'm really glad that Blade Forums has been successful. I hang here more than any other forums. It used to be RimfireCentral and Colt, but now it's primarily Blade Forums. It all started for me with an article I believe was in Outdoor Life magazine about internet forums and a faster (non-dial up connection). So if you see my same handle in other forums, it's me. Been here a while and have enjoyed the interaction for the most part.

I haven't been here too long, only 15 years. I think I originally joined to discuss knives on the Schrade subforum. It's been an evolution for me, as I have gone from a fledgling knife nut to a part-time modder. I've met a ton of people here (online), and though I may never meet many of you in person, I consider the majority of you as good friends. We've seen highs and lows, met many new people, and lost some real good ones also. You folks have got me through some rough times also, so thanks for being there.

Thanks for starting this thread, Ted! And thanks to Kevin for giving us a sandbox to play in all these years.

I'm going to predict bladeforums will be around as long as humans are.. a knife is such a useful tool, and everybody needs them and uses them daily.

I've been a member for 4 years, and lurked a little longer than that. Even though I have a pretty well rounded collection of users, I find myself here daily checking up on what you guys and gals are up to.

Hope to be here for the next 20..

Of all the social media and all the forums and web pages out there this one here, BladeForums.com embodies the knife community and how it was supposed to interact with the internet. BFC is a successful endeavor a social format bringing all aspects of an industry and community together. Makers, manufacturers modders, collecters, traders, historians... the list goes on forever and Kevin along with James and Mike started something that worked and worked beautifully.

It may not have been perfect, it's most certainly been a work in progress. James is gone and has his own knife site to oversee, Mike is involved with so many endeavors, he started a motorcycle company with some friends, has gotten into working out again and still can be foubd on Facebook aggrivating the idiots lending a hand to expose scams and internet fraud plus my favorite, annoy the heck out of the flat earthers on Facebook and elsewhere on the internet.

So many of the greats in the industry had set up an office/forum here. Tell me where else can you speak with the CEOs and designers of companies like Buck, ZT and our good friend Sal from Spyderco. I can't think of a forum anywhere that has the presence of so many custom makers and bladesmiths.

20 years and the good Lord willin' I'll be here clutterin' up these pages with my same inane drivel and bad knife pictures and stories. :)

Thank you to Spark for providinf a place where people all over the world come to better educate themselves on all types of cutlery.

Thank you to the mods who help regulate our fool selves and dish out the spankings when we need ‘em.

Thank you to the members be they craftsmen, dealers, or just knife lovers for making this place what it is. I probably should have joined earlier but I lurked on the forum as a guest for nearly 4 to 5 years before joining. There was just so much to learn.

20 more years!

October 5th 2002 is my Bladeforums birthday. The time has really flown by. This is by far the best forum I have ever found and the only one I participate in nearly everyday.
To those that work to make this place possible I say thank you.

I've stuck with BF from it's beginning, Happy Birthday!! I was another that lost posts and restarted at some point. It's still fun to see the folks I remember from the early days still on here. I do miss those that have left for various reasons, especially those that have passed. Here's to another 20, at 73 I may not maker it but you never know!
