Just wanted to wish the forum members a happy 4th of July. We live in the best country on earth, thanks to past and future patriots. God bless our veterans!

Since a lot of us may be having picnics this weekend to celebrate, I thought I'd start a thread to find out what Becker knife enthusiasts may be planning.

Here's my entry before it goes in the smoker; a 13 lb bouncing beef brisket. Just add a sharp bk5 to slice it and a Beckerhead growler filled with Atwater Block brewery "Conniption Fit" 8% double IPA and some friends and am good to go. Vegetables are overrated.... Smoking that brisket all day on the 4th should give me time to finally sharpen that splendid blade so the slices are see through thin. Can't wait. Enjoy the 4th.

Who's next? :D

Been eating BBQ since Sat so it'll just be burgers-n-dogs on the 4th. A brat or two just might sneak onto the grill. ;)

I'm not sure of the menu timing, but I know I have hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken fajitas, chicken breasts, chicken enchiladas, and pot roast planned for the weekend, along with pinto beans, baked beans, potato salad, chocolate cake, key lime pie, and banana pudding. I'm just the cook. At some point I'll be told when I need to have what done by.

Mine will either be brisket or burgers and hot dogs. I'm waiting on my parents to tell me if they want BBQ or not. If they do, they better hurry and tell me!

Not sure yet. Heading to the farm tomorrow morning to see what they have. Will likely do some sort of pork roast low & slow.

JWL,

The farm? Very nice. That's as fresh and good as it gets. My stuff has shrink wrap on it. .. Have a good holiday.

Keeping it simple in Barlow. Got some black Angus ground beef for bigass burgers and all the fixings. Saved a 12 pack of Yuengling for the occasion. Going to eat, drink and burn up some ammo.

Going with pork loin, Becker style. Uncle Weirdbeard dialed me by accident the other day, so I hit him up for the recipe. :p

May have to get the growler filled with something special tomorrow.

smoked a 6 lb pork shoulder, corn, and peppers -- made salsa with the corn & peppers.

Wow, this is primal and glorious

Not sure about tomorrow, but tonight if it quits raining, chicken breast, hotdogs, s'mores, and mebbe some other goodies at the cabin.

Ooh yeah, I forgot to include this...
I like a good tangy BBQ sauce on the ribs. With pulled pork its gotta be the vinegar based Carolina style. It's not really a sauce, its not thick so it doesn't take a whole lot to get the flavor in there. Carolina doesn't do beef BBQ, its all pork here. Hell, even our NHL mascot is a hog lol. No better pork BBQ than here IMO. I grew up in TX so I'm going to be biased on the beef there, it can't be beat.

Yikes, that looks delisch!!! Gimme those black crunchy parts! Just had a $4 dog at the ball park... Meh..

Got the smoker goin full bore- lots of porky beefy goodness inside! Happy 4th guys.

Well this all made me hungry again!

Happy Independance Day friends! Never forget!!

Oysters from Taylor shellfish and Aidells chicken and apple sausages. Not actual BBQ, more simple grilling....it was very nice.
