Last night was pretty tame in this neighborhood, but poor Ozzy was shaking. We'll tire her out with swimming today and possibly give her a sedative after supper before tonight's fireworks get going. Happy 4th all! My son and I will go Joey Chestnut on a big pack of hotdogs.

Our older one was already shaking at the occasional fire cracker yesterday. Tonight we'll have to put him on Tramadol

The younger one couldn't care less.

Hunter hates the fireworks ... he thinks he's protected putting his head under the bed sham. We usually close all the blinds and turn the volume up on the TV trying to drown out the explosions.

Fireworks have the opposite effect on my dog. His ears perk up and he goes nuts. Probably because he thinks that people are shootings dozens of birds all around them and he wants to go get them.

My Tibetan Masfiff and my Anatolian Shepherd (both large and aggressive herd guardian dogs) were deathly afraid of fireworks, poor kids. I now have standard poodles and they could care less about the fireworks, my wife is convinced it’s because she likes heavy metal and has trained them to like loud noises. I dunno, she might be right…
