Happy Birthday Kismet!

Your good wishes mean much.

This day, this year, I keep on thinking that I have now lived longer than my father did. Over the 42 years since he died, I have often wished I could have come to know him as a man, and have him know me as such. It's hard not to wonder if we'd be friends.

I suppose we are all our own role models, really. I think that we conceptualize what a person should be like, and then work to that image, however realistic or not it may be. In a circular way, we admire that which we find to be admirable.

I don't always wish to be me, but I've never wanted to be someone else.

Odd business, this business of life.

Thank you, Folks.

Kis,
OMG, not only are we both Geminis, but... my father died 42 years ago too.
One difference: I knew him well enough to know whether we could be friends or not. Sadly, not.
Hope you got some good presents :D

I think that is very true especially with respect to the internet and personas played out in forums such as this. Many times the true person is far different from the mental image one conjures up.

............. Semper

I've always tried to be as accuratre as I can; if you've come away with the impression I'm a little crazy I've been successful in my portrayal.

I think young people who cannot seperate the internet from reality, and use that as a reason for slitting another's throat have some significant problems. 20 years in prison won't make those problems any better, but at least they won't be slitting as many throats.
