I checked again on the church. The good news is that it is still a church. The bad news is that it's a Church of Scientology. :rolleyes:

When my wife and I moved to Prescott in '97, I was both dumbfounded and elated to find a Costco in a smaller town like that. Even more thrilled when they put the gas station in! :D Cheap gas is good when you're a poor college student!!! :thumbup:

We like the Prescott area. My only complaint is the lack of a good Chinese and Japanese restaurant. Most of them are either buffets or chain restaurants like Panda Express. The few regular sit down restaurants serve bland, almost tasteless food. We have some pretty good pizza places and excellent steaks. Of course, there is all the mediocre Mexican food that you can gag down. :barf:

What's kind of weird is the Chinese buffets. They tend to go out of business because of the crappy food and sell the place to another group of Chinese. They serve the same crappy food and go out of business. Then they sell to another group who does the same thing. Eventually, you would think that they would take a hint and improve the food, but they don't.
 
My grandparents met at the rodeo in Prescott 1946. G-pa and his brothers were on motorcycles. I asked G-ma what made her jump on the back of a bike and disappear for a day with him and she said. "He was the cleanest one."
Makes sense I guess.

We lived in northern AZ and I always loved going down there.

Since our clocks were set forward back in the spring, I didn't see this thread until we set our clocks back to normal time today. :D
