Mailman brought a little box this AM - The HI label almost covered one side. I e-mailed Uncle Bill a "Whassup?", and he said "Your kid did it".

It is a kagas katne. Kutest little Khuk there ever was!! More like a Malla than the one on the shopping site (

) and perfectly detailed.
I immediately did the sheath with the Lexol, and then the handle (since I haven't gotten a hoof preparation yet) and noticed intermitant red spots in the grooves. The Lexol had softened some of the dust left over from polishing, and there was a red coat all around, in the bottom of each groove. I don't know if it was deliberate or leftover buffing compound, but the contrast with the black horn was too good to lose - each groove now has a seal of Tru Oil in it, applied with a toothpick.

Harry - in my exuberance, my "blade wrap" was about four thicknesses of kleenex (just a little Khuk, right?? WRONG) Not much more than a paper cut, but a good reminder - EVEN THE LITTLE ONES BITE.

Thanks, again, Alan (for the Khuk, not the bite :O

Yep - I stayed off to one side and let their Mom raise them. Worked wonders

Walosi what are the chances of bringing your
other son into the HI fold too? I see some serious fun on the forum potential here

Bill:

The older brother just retired from the army, and is in the process of rebuilding a house they were renting in NC, and now hope to buy. I'll get him hooked on Khuks when they come out (one week from today) and may even snare a Grandson (if his mother doesn't scream and run when I bring out the steel). The grandaughter can probably operate a 'puter as well as any here, but the COPPA rules won't let her in (for our protection - she is 5 going ON 40, going LIKE 60 and a total darlin').

IF they all come in, the "potential" will become nasty reality. My derriere will become grass. Good thing this is cave country.

Yvsa - Rob:

You two are obviously posting something that is being censored. SHAME. PERFIDY. (can you put up the URL?)

I just took a new upgrade (2.6.1) that seemed to be a great improvement (promised to fix the bugs in the 2.6). On posts before, which showed the same blanks as above, hitting the "reload" button would usually bring them up. Not so this time - must be something that MSN and AOL have agreed not to agree on. The last two upgrades have set WebTV browsers at 4.0, and most Netscape will run just fine.

If the pics are octet, stream, or even MSWord attachments, forget it with a WTV

Guys the post is fine. Your WebTV is OK also.
Its the URL itself thats the problem. No DNS
resolution (...no can find that address on the internet

) Here try it manually by
clicking on it, http://www.stopstart.redhotant.com/smilie/linesm1.gif , see no work. MauiRob, please check to see it was copied accurately. If the server has an Access Control List (ACL), is behind a firewall, or you used a password to access it initially, we probably can't get to it from here. Or
maybe that server is just plain off-line (down) right now.

A Happy Fadder's Day to all the Dad's out there!!!!
biggrin.gif

I really liked todays "Pickles" comic strip in the Sunday Funnies.

Barb has made a Huge Batch of Cabbage Rolls and Coconut and Chocolate Cream Pies as well as a Surprise Pie of both Coconut and Chocolate to use up the pudding.

I will no doubt over eat and be miserable the rest of the
day.

The kids are over with the grandkids so I know at least part of the day I will be hiding out.
biggrin.gif

And takeing a nap is always a good excuse to do that.

MAybe I shouldn't have written about the food, next thing you know T-Bone will be wanting to come down and eat with us.

biggrin.gif

And T-Bone there will be plenty so if y'all get time come on down.
At least we can hide out together and talk about khukuris and other sharp pointy things.

Elder Son called, to wish happy happy, and mentioned that they were going to Maw In Law's for lunch. After about 18 items, when he got down to banana pudding as the third dessert choice, I told him to e-mail anything else he had to say, and hung up. I have barely survived "light lunches" with that clan, and full "get together" meals can be cause for disaster relief. My daughter-in-law, her three sisters and her mom are all fine cooks. When they cook en-masse, no male alive can resist. Their marriage strategy hasn't varied in years - "I want this one" - "OK, invite him for Sunday lunch". GONER!!
