Happy Fathers Day

KV, your daughters are beautiful. I suspect that you, like me, are beginning to think that the ideal father's day gift would be something along the lines of

Smith & Wesson Preformance Center .500 revolver.

Winchester Model 70 in .375 H&H Mag

or, for really close range, one of Bailey Bradshaw's katanas.

I figure since nobody is gonna get me any of those, I better plan on one myself. luckily, I have a few years to save before there is a real need.
:D

My ideal Father's Day gift would be a .45, a shovel, and a big backyard. :D

A day late, but I hope all you fathers had a great day yesterday!

I had to postpone it with my own dad because he was at a car show all weekend, so I'll be taking him out for dinner this week. :)

Did he go to the Concours De Elegance in Bethlehem?

Today was a very good day fo rth emost part. I got off of work at 8AM and I had a brand new patio fireplace waiting for me. We had breakfast with parents and brothers and i took a trip to the Diablo Freeride Park for a little downhill mountain biking action. On my way home I witnessed a MVA involving a car and motorcycle. Luckily I had my EMT bag handy I went to assist. The biker suffered some broken bones but he will make it home to his family. Later in the afternoon I cracked a few beers and started up the grill to make dinner that we had with my in-laws. Put the kids to bed and now I'm just kicking back and relaxing.

Here's a pic of my girls Sophia Grace and Olivia Paige. :D

Dude, beautiful kids, you have my sympathies for when they hit 14 and start dating like my daughter.

Although the collection of knives and guns do make her boyfriends a little more respectful and careful around me. :D

I have no idea where he went actually... He goes to car shows almost every weekend during the summer. Nice pics though. :) My dad buys and restores old cars and is working on putting together an antique auto museum with some guy who lives in Japan. He has a wall full of trophies for his Lincolns and who knows what else.

Here's a plug for him: http://www.rendenaservices.com/ca.htm :)

p.s. That was my "look how proud of my dad I am" fathers day gift to him. But, shh... don't tell him!

I gotta come visit your Dad, oh yea and you too. :D

I was raised by a mother and father who saw Mothers' Day and Fathers' Day as a cynical manipulation by florists and gift shops to increase sales, so I have never made much of these days. But my son called me last night to share that he had been remembering his teen years and that one of his happiest memories was the weekend when we both underwent the Order of the Arrow Ordeal at the same time and place. We were obviously in different groups, but we kept track of one another and I was so pleased to hear that it was such a happy memory for him.

Hugh, I agree with you that Mother's Day and Father's Day are cynical commercial manipulations. But so what? They did the right thing for the wrong reason, it's still the right thing to celebrate with parents.

I spent friday and saturday camping with my son and the Cub Scout troop. We camped at a local state park. Nice to be able to camp, and still be within 10 minutes of a Starbucks'.

Sunday was housework.

Well, after all is said & done, not a bad weekend.

Here's a shot of the source of my grey hair! Kellie turned 3 on saturday.

My wife and I were folding a plastic tarp when Kellie walked under it. The static on the tarp was strong enough to cause Kellie's extremely curly hair to stand up as seen in the photo.

I dunno. I've been conducting some geneology research, but I don't remember seeing Albert Einstein and Don King anywhere in the family tree... :D
