Happy Holidays

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope everyone has a nice one!

As I await the rest of the family getting up so we can start breakfast including Sara Lee coffee cakes :):), I am forced to exist on Christmas cookies and coffee with Kahlua and Baileys.

We have family scattered all over the US, but a bunch are coming for Christmas dinner. My wife still bakes dozens upon dozens of Christmas cookies every year, because evidently nobody else in the family has any recipes for cookies. Last night she made up Care packages of cookies for everyone. If she didn't do that, I'd have no problem eating them all.

We have time for our daily walk before the kids start showing up with their kids, and even some of their kids have kids, then it'll be time to remove my hearing aids.:)

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays! Thanks for a great year of fellowship and learning!

We're off to see the Washington Crossing reenactment, so I'm happy for a sunny, 40degree day instead of a white Christmas in Philadelphia.

Sounds like my wife. Here's a pic of the cookies she baked. This is before she makes up plates of cookies for a dozen or more family, friends, neighbors etc. The 3 season room, off our dining room, makes a great refrigerator in the winter.

All of my kids and their families are in town for Christmas. My daughter was up until 2 am making her traditional Christmas cookies!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all the porch members and your loved ones!

I enjoy reading through everyone's thoughts and seeing the great pictures. It's been a great morning here for us in Montana, had the slightest dusting of snow overnight. The house smells like pumpkin pie and Turkey :)

Hope everyone enjoys the days festivities and safe travels to all who have to journey out today.

Merry Christmas

Jeff

My wife and I are both from SC so we go home for Christmas every year. Both of our fathers were Air Force and both our respective families settled at the last base they were stationed at (super convenient as our they live 5 minutes apart). My boys are 7 and 2 ( with third a boy coming in April!) so they are still really fun at Christmas and I know my folks appreciate getting to participate in Christmas morning fun.

I lost my last grandparent over the summer, so we are creating new Christmas traditions this year as the entire extended family would always gather at my grandparents house since I was little.

My day has been spent opening up children's toys and assembling them, I have the forum knife in my pocket and it got quite a workout.

Happy Holidays to all my friends here on the porch. While not quite as active as I usually am pic wise,I log in every day. This year I ended up staying home alone, and no don't feel sorry, seems most of my family this year felt the same. Both my Dad and Grandmother stayed home, the last couple years we met at my sister's. I've been having a couple issues with my truck that was enough to not trust a 3 hour drive. Anyway stopping in here always makes me feel good. From the silliness of threads like Spamorama,to checking in at the lounge to seeing some strange new oddities someone has found. In the past I was a member of several forums from offroading to shotgunning, and NONE exhibit the stunning generosity, genuine friendships, and depth of knowledge and the desire to encourage one another like the porch.I cannot speak to other sub forums here at Blade as I rarely look at anything but traditionals, but here there is virtually no knife snobbery or jealousy. We are just as thrilled about your 2 dollar fleamarket old clamshell (I have several myself) as we are about your 2,000 dollar custom. Thats a rare thing really, you people are special. I'm really glad to have found this place.

Whoops ran off track and got to rambling again,:rolleyes:better go see if any new spam art has been posted;)
