Happy Memorial Day

THANK YOU, to all our American Military, those who severed in the passed and those who are serving now! I love this country and the freedom's we enjoy, just remember that they were hard won freedoms and some have paid the ultimate price for us. Take a moment today to give thanks to them.

Very nice JB and very appropriate. Thank you for sharing.

Couple of questions if I may?

On the Battleship knives, I notice the Iowa has "1 of 100" but the Arizona does not. Did Buck do one for each of the Battleships (Iowa, New Jersey, Missouri, Wisconsin, etc)?

I'm a little late to this thread. I've been making a flower garden for my wife. I am also retired military. I spent twenty two years in the Navy...another eight years as a police officer if that counts. I know many current and former members of the military and I have nothing but the utmost respect for them. That being said, this day is to remember those that gave that last piece of themselves that they had to give for us, that we may continue to live in this great country. I will honor THEM today and make a special effort to get to our local veterans cemetary to say a few prayers on their behalf.

I've only one member of my family that was lost in service to our country. He was my Mom's brother and was a B-24 pilot in WWII. He was shot down somewhere in Europe and is buried there. I truly regret not remembering him as, according to all reports I was the apple of his eye. I was the first grandchild born so I was his first nephew and he doted on me. They say he would shake all his buddies down on base (before going overseas) for their loose change to bring home and used it to buy war bonds for me.

I have a picture of Uncle Charles and myself when I was just barely able to walk but I have no recollection of him at all. I also have an 8 x 10 photo of him and his crew posed next to their plane. What a handsome group they were, each and everyone looked like a movie star in their flight gear! I really need to find those pictures and scan them.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!
To all THOSE (and their families) all who gave up their lives for OUR FREEDOM.

Hi BH,
Buck only did these two battleships. The Arizona had 250 knives issued.

Thanks for the reply. As a Navy Vet I always thought the battleships were pretty impressive. I'll have to keep an eye out for one of those.

Great knives JB. Thanks for posting those. Don't you also have the 692 Vietnam Vet knife?
Nice, fitting pics as well Armand.
Sorry I'm late, but thanks to all who served. Happy belated Memorial day.

John,
My guess is they did these two battleships because of the incidents associated with them. The Arizona is obvious. The Iowa had that terrible explosion in turret #1 that killed twenty some odd gunners mates.
