Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Make sure on Friday you make yourself a turkey sandwich with cheese, mayo, cranberry sauce, and stuffing.
I always say someday I'll make it to a blade show and see eveyone. That would be nice.

Been up since before 5am and got the turkey in the outdoor grill/smoker to be slow fire roasted with mesquite wood burning in the firebox. I prepared a brine yesterday to soak the turkey in overnight. This has been my tradition for several years now and I provide one of the two turkeys for our extended family Thanksgiving dinner. My brother-in-law usually provides a ham or a fried turkey and this year he will be roasting a turduken.

I am thankful for my friends, family, job and a place to hang out (here) while I keep an eye on the fire from time to time.

I've been outside as well watching the squirrels, bluejays, mockingbirds, a red headed woodpecker on the big oak tree in the backyard while also watching the fire and listening to the wood crackle and pop. I wish I knew how to whittle.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving all. When my wife and I used to live in the states our family would come down for Canadian Thanksgiving to visit (October 10) when our neighbors saw all the Canadian license plates up and down the street they would ask what the occaision was and we'd tell them "Thanksgiving!". After they finished staring at us like we had just grown antlers or something many of them would come to the door to wish us the best and some would give us a pie or a bottle of wine to help us celebrate the holiday. Another time my wife was working in New Hampshire and the folks she worked with found out that she was Canadian they set up a little celebration on July 1st (Canada Day) to make her feel a little less homesick. So on this Thanksgiving I am grateful for the American friends I have made and the kindness I have been shown living in your country over the years. My family has a strong American connection of which I am proud and I wish you all the best in these challenging times. As I always say about the USA, "Those people may be down sometimes but NEVER count them out!"
Your Canadian freind Yobbos1.
