Villager Planchok wins again in the kitchen. Tonight I chopped up a bunch of veggies and a duck for some cornbread duck pablano dressing. Tomorrow pork ribs, Carmel Machiato Cheescake, corn, fresh snap beans and who knows what else might happen!

I'm not using a thing today, Kamidog. I'm treating the entire family to the special super-duper Thanksgiving Day humongous Breakfast and Dinner buffet at the casino & racetrack. (Figure that I could buy 8 kuks with what I'll shell out today.) Be down Texas way for left overs supper & Guinness at your place this evening.

Happy Thanksgiving all! Not using a thing, heading over to a relative's house for the family dinner (about 70 of us) tonight (their turn this year). Wife is making a custard pie though, no knives needed for that job...lol.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Wow I sense a theme, I am also not cooking a thing. Going over to the Dragon-in-Law's for dinner. And since my cooking doesn't meet her standards, I am taking wine.... lots and LOTS of wine. :D

I am blissfully free of family travel, having long ago told everyone outside of my household that claims to be related to me " I have too many animals to take care of to leave my manse" and too many forums to post on :D-- but seriously anyone else totally cut off from extended family ? I do not get along with them and have nothing to do with any of them; but I am a hermit so that is probably me more than them.

Well im not fond of driving in all the traffic on the holidays. If I could be teletransported or hyperspaced id be happy as a clam. My anamules are not permitted at my family's houses so if I have to spend the night my wife and I take two cars where she stays one day there then i stay the next day leaving someone at home to feed the critters. Anything over two days (beach camping) and the critters come with us. Have a safe trip to those traveling! Time to dismember a duck:D Hmm? lets see. Wine or Guinness?
Oh Bookie. Guinness and chicken stock go in the dressing. I cut the fatty pieces of the duck and render it down like bacon till crispy and crackly. Throw in some garlic and onions till carmelized. Then add one chicken and one Guinness and some water then simmer several hours with celery and other veggie scraps and herbs. Yields a killer stock and chicken goes in the cornbread dressing mix. Give me a call when you get to interstate 35 and ill flag you in. Im still waiting on Bawanna. I think Shavru is bringing some wine;) ...hic.....hic..

My mother in law, brother in law, niece, and their yappy dog are in for a couple days. No khuks used this go around. I smoked two turkey breast for 12 hours. You could cut it with a spoon:)

That sounds really good. Save, freeze, and ship some to me, I'll pick up the freight cost...lol

Hell, man. It's easy peasy. The smokey drippings make a fantastic gravy. Lemme know. I can do a whole breast if you ever want it. It just takes time. Slow and low with a constant drip of bourbon...for me, not the bird;)

We went over to my parent's house for dinner. My mom is an awesome cook. She roasted one turkey, came out nice and juicy, she told me her secret this year was keeping the bird covered with a bourbon-soaked cheesecloth while it cooked. We also had a smoked turkey ordered from the grocery store. Lots of great sides too. Apple crisp and pumpkin cheesecake/pie for dessert.

I am all Turkeyed out!

I jusgat home frum sisters house. Sh'es insane, but goot family together. Needed medicine, near killed bottole of Glenlevit, it was gudd.

Home now, need nap. Happy, happy.

I ended up slicing potatoes with my reti. My niece was trying to use a normal knife, but the knife was dull, and bending excessively, and she's tiny. Turns out the reti does quite well on potatoes once you get the hang of it.
