Hapstone R2

Try loosening the two screws on each clamp that are used to fasten the actual clamp to the spring steel part and moving the clamp in the direction needed before re-tightening. Flip over and do the other side if required.

Good afternoon dear Mr. B burdog !
Thank you for your question.

Closer to the topic that to understand the tolerances and angle difference at the flip you need to know what clamps you use, if we are talking about universal any difference can be corrected by manipulation with the adjustment of clamps. If we are talking about all-milled clamps, the problem may be in the turning mechanism or in the clamps themselves.

If your question is not solved, please contact us at info@hapstone.pro and we will solve any question related to our sharpening system and our products.
The warranty on the knife sharpening system is 5 years.

Regards, Mario.
Hapstone !

Thanks Mario for jumping in. I want to first apologize if I implied the Hapstone R2 was defective or poorly designed because at this point I honestly believe it is not. After all the responses that I received I believe the issue is me and how I am using the clamping system.

I am currently using the Universal clamps so I believe the problem is me not knowing how to set up the clamp on the knife correctly. I have the all milled clamps as well but i have not used them yet. I will check measurements and angles with those clamps with a flat bar and report back.

Thanks again for your help Mario.

Using a flat bar I did as you suggested and got .1 deg difference between flipping from one side to the other. Pretty darn near perfect if you ask me!

Are my clamps "in sync" now or is this procedure required each time I set up?

Thank you for your help!

It seems to hold for me. I lucked out and got it to .1° on the first try which I figured was close enough and haven't fooled with it since. Glad you got it sorted.
