Does anyone know if the HF 12" or 10" disk sander has a reversible motor? I would like to be able to hook up a drum switch to one and no where can I find specs on these motors. Thanks!

You would need to take the cover plate off the motor and see if the wiring diagram specifies the ability to reverse the motor. Most of the cheaper motors are not reversible but you never know until you get into it. HF has a 90 day return policy. You could buy it and see if will work and take it back if it doesn't. Now that said, I have been using a disc for 16 years now and I decided on a 9" so I could use standard sheet paper on it. The precut discs can be very expensive and do not hold up any longer than the regular sheets. They are also difficult to get precisely aligned for a good grind. If you are just using it for handles and flattening and not for your majority of work then the larger discs will be OK. If you are looking for a primary tool then I would suggest the 9". If you have any additional questions feel free to contact me.

No , NO . I already asked last year . It is not reversible and either is Grizzly's that I wrote about . Of course , I would never buy anything from H.F.
