Hard battle, but i'm getter slowly better

Thank you so much!
I remember waking up the second stroke, no sight, no movement left side and no speech! I thought have I gone to heaven!!
By 3 days my sight came back and I could mutter a few words.
Started 7 months solid in 3 hospital for intense theropy, physio and speech.
My memory was gone, could not read or write and to make matters worse I was left handed :-(
I couldn't even understand the letter 'A' let a lone talk properly!!
But with determination with my friends and family & old Army mates coming to visits and my loving partner I got through it!!
Then 3 months of physio/speech on my new home, 7 days a week!! Then the winter set in!!!
Muscles and joints where useless!! But I did my exersices and on the treadmill 7 days a week!
Now the weather is getting better I average 2 mile a day walking.
Sometimes my old army mates go with me with there packs on their backs!! Hahaha! Remember the time I was shouting encouragement to them...long time ago!
Just faith and determination you can do anything!! And I will!!!! (Well apart from run a marathon lol)
There are unfortunate people out there than myself, I am not the only one that suffered, I made the strokes and I have get on with, no complaining no anger! Just frustration till I get the task done how I wanted!! If I wasn't human there's is some feelings like frustration etc. 'BUT IT WILL NOT BEAT ME! I'm a battler....
The sun is shining so off I go with my walking stick and my headphones on!!
Onwards and upwards.
Take care,
ATB

^ Awesome, inspirational update, Brian.

It sounds like you have some amazing, caring friend's!

Prayers out you for your continued recovery! I pray that you get better every day!!

I am still recovering from a nasty car accident that totaled my Tahoe. And recently had shoulder surgery (April 1st), because of the car accident, that I am currently recovering from. I had a torn rotator cuff, labrurm, etc. They did a lot of work on my shoulder.

I wish you a speedy and successful recovery, I have nothin' to compare, seems all my issues are in my structure and stability

Your hard work is an inspiration. I wish you a full recovery and hope that your future is bright.

Thank you so much!

Brian, that must have been terrifying to not be able to see, move or speak!! I am glad that you ARE still here with us. God has great plans for you!! Thank you for sharing! You ARE a fighter. I AM praying for you. It is amazing what you went through, and came through!! I pray for your continued healing & recovery! Keep up the great work!!

Best of luck to you. A couple months ago I weighed 415, couple of years before that I was more. I'm 365 now, just ate shawarama with some friends, but am scared to death of a stroke or heart attack due to my size. Diabetes and hypertension. Prayers for you.

Thank you so much!
