Hard to Find Movie

Speaking of...Can anyone identify the knife used in the opening scenes; the one used to carve the letter "P" into the deceased girl?

Bah...I just checked the copy I have and it is in German. :o

Thanks for looking Morrow. I appreciate the effort. I'll have to try & get one off Amazon & find some way to convert it from vhs to dvd.

I might still have a VHS copy but I am not sure. I have a feeling that all my VHS tapes went in the trash when the VCR finally quit...If I can find it I will post here and whoever wants it can have it...I haven't seen the tape in a couple years though.

I also have the book, A High Art by Reubem Fonseca. Very different than the movie. It was pretty hard to find and I had to wait a couple of years for it to show up on Amazon. I don't think it was too expensive but I probably won't loan it out lol... there are a bunch from that famous online book place ranging from $4-$100. There are some used VHS copies of the movie as well...

In the movie the knife that the main bad guy used to carve the face of the hookers was a custom.

In the book one of the knives described was a "Cassidy with a fourteen centimeter blade and a black micarta handle" but the plot was very different from the movie.

In the movie when Rafael the assassin uses the Spyderco Police, in the book he uses "an ordinary Tramontina purchased in a cutlery shop on Praca Tiradentes" later described as a "...Tramontina, it's a kitchen knife you can buy anywhere." Camilo Fuentes, the big Indian, mainly used a machete. Mandrake used the Randall, Hermes used a Randall as well I believe but I can't remember. It has been a couple of years since I read the book.

Thanks for your efforts Rat. I'm still trying to find a copy & if possible, burn it to dvd. I live in the same neck of the woods as you. I'm in Anoka.

Just watched the YouTube version on my iPad. Sound is pretty bad, and the picture quality is...OK...
Been a few years since I watched this last...holds up pretty well. Convoluted plot, good action sequences...
Hopefully they'll release a DVD sometime.
