An $8.95 Frost Swedish Army knife (looks like a Mora). I use it on tall ship rigging, elk and bear skinning, around the ranch for everything you can think off including a thrower at wood pile rats, open a thick plastic carton or two without re steeling..Cutting blocks (whittling) for shivs on boats, slicing cable covers etc...on top of which, it's good for filleting salmon and trout. I beat the crap out of it and it comes back for more.I've used it as a dive knife on barges and a hook to hang my gear out of bear and cougar reach in the field. If I had spent a couple of hundred dollars on some the knives in these forums, there is absolutely no way they'd stay in the box as eye candy or a "Well I have a....." Nor would I think a manufacturer with any true faith in his blade want such a fate for their product.Buy it for what you need a blade for and use it for what you bought it for. To be honest, I can afford any knife made.Period. (I'm not hurtin'...) but I choose blades to be my work companions and my work is both diversified and hard.My military experience was in the specialized areas (not a Remington Raider BTW...) and in that world, I learned small is usually more versatile and less problems of carry. Fantasy thinking is better left to movies and sleep.
