Looking to purchase a new fixed blade, camp style knife. I need something i can be rough on without fear of harming or altogether breaking it. Pricepoint doesnt matter. Any ideas?

If $$$ doesn't matter I would look into Busse. Their knives really can't be beat. For less expensive options, Swamp Rat, ESEE, Becker all make good knives. Also, Fehrman knives are excellent!

Becker.
The full size ones are very nice the 5 is the camp knife. You can get micarta handles for them as well.

For the money, I'd go with a GSO from SurviveKnives!.

Steel is one of the following:
CPM 3V
M390
CV 20
S7

I have a 4.1 (4" blade) in 3V & so far it's tough as nails. Holds an edge for a long long time. They are available in the following blade lengths:
3.5"
4"
5"
6"
7"
10"

Comes with a lifetime warranty.

Any of the Busse & Kin knives (Scrapyard or Swamp Rat) are top notch too. Busee uses INFI steel. Scrapyard & Swamp Rat use SR-101 which I believe is 52100 steel with a proprietary heat treat.

Can't go wrong with any of the above. I choose the GSO 4.1 because of its utilitarian look. It's a user for me and I don't want to worry about marring a pretty finish or coatings.

Busse
Survive!
ESEE
Becker

In that order. There are others, but these seem to rule the roost and dominate threads like this.

You've gotten some really great suggestions. I'll add the Cold Steel Trail Master to the list. I recently purchased one of the new models made with O-1 carbon steel and am really impressed with how it performs. Also, a lot of people don't realize it, but the tang is radiused on the newer Trail Masters and Recon Scouts. I'm very happy with my Trail Master.

ESEE 5. I have done everything to mine but put it to the blowtorch. Still looks brand new. And can't beat the warranty

No such knife exits or ever will. We have many great makers, some of which have already been mentioned, but steel will not replace skill or experience, and knives can be easily damaged when abused or misused. Take your time and use your knife with the same respect that you would use with any other fine tool. It is not just about damaging the knife, it is also about hurting yourself or depriving yourself of a valuable tool at a critical time.

Having said that I would also suggest looking at the knives made by Bill Siegle. He makes a wide variety of sturdy camp knives that look good and work well, and they come with secure and sturdy kydex sheaths and have excellent handle ergonomic.

Turley makes some tough knives. He's got a couple of large modles that might fit the the bill. He uses his knives pretty hard on his yt videos. I own two. He's got a bit of a wait, but there's sometimes ways around that.

In all honesty, most fixed blades from a reasonable manufacturer will hold up to anything you will throw at it. In the USMC a DI drove his issue KaBar into a tree with the pommel of another KaBar and stood on it. IIRC those knives were 1095.

Ditto, and though I don't currently, nor have I ever owned a Busse (not yet anyway), they are definitely doing something right and their reputation is obviously more than hype and fan boys. On the other hand, I currently own, and have beat the hell out of the other 3 in the field in real world situations, and they deserve their spot on this list in the order they are listed here. Consequently, this list is also in price order as well.
Also to consider is that some would do things with a sub $100 Becker that they would not blink for, but may think twice with a $400 Busse or Survive. To each his own. If you have a $500.00 knife in the field, and are hesitant to use it, then you have the wrong knife in the field. My .02

^ this is spot on......

Also, I hope that you know how to sharpen or have a good sharpening system.....

Regardless of blade steel, if you're using it, it will get dull, and at the very least micro-chip, especially with 'hard use'
