Hard use fixed blade

Thank you all very much for all these awesome suggestions! I'd run across my uncle's USN issued Ka-Bar style Camillus, and it has yet to let me down through some pretty tough stuff, thank you all again and i will definately keep Busse in mind.

I would have suggested a TBS grizzly

Or a Warthog

For the money, I'd go with a GSO from SurviveKnives!.

Steel is one of the following:
CPM 3V
M390
CV 20
S7

I have a 4.1 (4" blade) in 3V & so far it's tough as nails. Holds an edge for a long long time. They are available in the following blade lengths:
3.5"
4"
5"
6"
7"
10"

Comes with a lifetime warranty. .

I've had two of these Survive Knives, a GSO 4.1 and a 3.5. The CPM-3V IS THE STEEL THAT YOU ARE ASKING FOR. Sure, my opinion, but there are some great YT videos from Survive to back this up. There's lots of good knives out there, and I'm sure there are other fine blade-steels also.

I have owned and used Busse , Swamp Rat , Scrapyard , Becker , Ontario , SOG , TOPS and Survive knives . I can tell you this , Busse , Swamp Rat and Scrapyard do make tough knives and the Becker BK2 has certainly earned it's place among tough knives . TOPS make very tough knives too and have a great fit and finish as well . And although I have not owned one , I know the ESEE 5 (which is very much like the BK2) is also a very tough knife with a better warrantee .,

All that said , once I got my Survive GSO 5 I sold off basically ALL my other knives and here is why . The GOS is much less money than the comparable size Busse . It has a thinner and better cutting edge than any TOPS , Swamp Rat or Scrapyard I ever owned . And it's the same size as both the ESEE 5 and the BK2 , but much lighter as they are made of 1/4" thick stock and the GSO is 3/16" . I have used my GSO 5 hard for about a year now . Batoning , chopping , making kindling , feather sticks , shelter poles and everything else you can think of . The only sharpening it has ever needed so far is a few strokes with a little ceramic sharpener to bring it back to shaving sharp (I don't chop cinder blocks with it) .

I know this is only MY opinion , but my knives are not safe queens . I use them . I don't abuse them , but I use them hard . If anyone has actually used a Survive GSO knife for any length of time and knows of a better knife , I'd REALLY like to hear about it .

MY best "hard use" fixie is one I got when I bought it for 8 bucks in an Army/Navy store to get the sheath for an old knife I have.
That dumb, bad steel, EASY to sharpen, THICK, BIG HANDLED, poky, pry-ie, clunker gets ALL my use for sticking and prying and whacking.

And it ain't bad at holding the edge either. Sharpens up good on a carbide V butcher knife thingy. And it's way stiffer than a Ginsu.:)

Key thing you said... price doesn't matter--well then, let me echo "Busse"... there is just nothing my TGLB won't do, no beating it can't take... and if you do break it, they have your back.

With cost not being the issue, Busse all the way. Great company staffed by great people with a huge following of great people that own this great knife. Get the hint?
