Hard-use knives

If the cutting job is going to get ugly, I put down the Starmate and pick up the Stanley utility knife. I'm sure the Starmate could handle most things I could ask of it, but I can't bear to abuse it. Using the Stanley keeps my conscience clean because I can always replace the razor blades, and they're cheap!

A solingen penknife with horn scales that I bought 2nd hand at a gun fair for £7. I don't seem to be able to loose it. The blades are well pitted and I am starting to eat into the blade. Been through the washing machine a few times.

CR Project.
Blackjack Marauder II machete.
Two SAK Huntsman.
Leatherman Wave.
Two AL Mar lock knives.
Several small Benchmades.
Gerber folding saw.

They are well used and I just get on with the job that needs doing. Other knives I have sit collecting dust. Time to give them away to someone who would use them. Its difficult to warrant buying any more. Need to go State side where the prices would make it too tempting and my wish list is growing.

I second the Dozier as one of the Best Hard Using knives. I carry one (of the many that I own) at all times and I don't flinch at all to whip one out and Trim a Goat's or Cow's hooves, cut thin rope or wire, or just any old chore around the farm. I also think the utility of the Leatherman series is almost impossible to beat. Take care of one of those babies and it will last forever!

I carry a nice knive in my right front pocket that if called upon could deliver. This week it has been the new LCC. On other weeks I have carried my SERE 2000 and SOCOM Elite manual ( since retired due to pre-pro blade).I do carry my SOCOM Elite auto and use it. The CTII gets carried but I have been unable to do more than open it. My part time job is at a Wal Mart Supercenter here in town. I work in the sporting goods section. Cutting cardboard and the like is the usual tasks for my knives. The one knive I carry in my vest pocket for all around use is a CRKT M-16 03.

Don't any body use a Doux Doux folder for hard work? Would not go into the field without my Doux Doux. I have the carbon steel version as opposed to the stainless ones.
