hardening saw teeth???

yeah im thinking about going that route just this once. in not saying its bad, stock removal is a very good method, just there seems to be something alive about blades that are forged. especialy when its done with authentic tools and methods. but for something this complicated i think im going to grind it. im wondering if a plasma cutter is o.k. to cut out the blank? would i have to stay a certain distance away from where the edge will be? will it burn the steel in a certain distance away from where i cut, like an oxyacetelne torch will? if it will ill just get admiral to cut it out before they ship the 0-1.
any thoughts on the green micarta, where to get it?

I too recently did a Tracker style blade and finally got the nerve to give it some teeth. I was quite worried about stress cracks during heat treat but I figured filing those teeth hardened was not an option for me. I rough ground the blade and filed the teeth to shape. During the heating of the blade I played the torch on the wide flats to evenly heat up the blade without over heating the teeth at all. I took a deep breath and quenched in preheated Quenchtex. No pings or snaps :D Just some nicely hardened teeth(edge too) I think the most important thing is to watch your heat. By the way the steel I used was 5160 from a bar not a recycled spring. I must admit filing those teeth was a real chore. Dang tendonitous has me popping Motrin before I turn on the lights in the shop :( At least they work as they were designed too :) Just don't ask me to make another.
