Hardness Testing

I am looking for a business, knifemaker, etc. that could test some heat treated sample for me and give me the rockwell c for them. Any recommendations?

Yeah, without a location, can't be specific.

However, in general, find a local Tool & Die shop and ask them. I've found one locally that does it as a favor. I get one checked against my hand held unit every so often to check to see if it's still working good.

Most good machine shops have a tester. Just drop by and introduce yourself.
There are probably 100 places within an hour of Dallas that do testing. A few phone calls or a afternoon of stopping by shops should find one quick.

Just google "Tool, Die, Dallas, TX" and you get many hits.
