Recommendation? Harduse folder choices?

Thanks everyone for your help, and just to say the prying isn't anything serious, just like prying open a can or something minor. Thanks!

Flathead from an SAK then, maybe. If you need a tin opener, it's there, too! It's why I carry one.

Granted, a tough folder will cut through and open an average aluminium tin or pry open a tin of paint easy enough, again, I see no point in worrying these when there is perhaps a more appropriate tool. All that wear accrues. If not in the blade edge, then the blade steel structure itself, the pivot, the lock.

I've had 7-10 Emersons...good knives...overpriced...a less than great blade-steel.
Had one DPX...just not my bag at all...
Had many ZT's, maybe 25...they are ALL EXCELLENT, and the 301 is known to be outstanding.

I realize I'm joining the conversation late. This is more for future readers.
I own all three. All three are excellent hard use folders. It's a win win.
The ST 301 is a beast. However, you get used to carrying it quickly. Great steel, great lock, great cs, fit and finish are perfect, high cool factor.
DPX is a thick little knife. Italian made, I have had zero problem with mine. Great belly fuctional knife. I wouldn't hesitate to use it in the field.
Emerson Vindicator would be my choice. Ergos are the best. I love 154 cm. So easy to maintain. I've use Emerson on duty and off.
Again, all three are winners.

OK, it's an old thread and the OP probably already bought a knife, used it, sold/traded it, bought another then sold/traded that by now ... but I can't help myself.

I have and like ZT;
I have and like DPx;
I have and like Emerson.

My suggestion: SR1 or other full size TriAD lock, such as my very favorite, the AD-10.
