Hardware finish...satin vs polished...Regular, Insingo and Umnumzaan content

I did the same thing to my screws a few months ago, I really like the look.

Looks great!
Thanks for posting your pictures. It caused me to do it to my large Regular. Not as fine as yours, I left a little "dark" in some areas just for contrast. It does make the handle a little slicker, glad I have flutes milled into the sides for grip.

Thanks!

Thanks for posting this. I gave mine the scotch brite treatment yesterday and am happy with the results. As gull wing said above, it will make the slabs slicker for sure.

Hey that's great guys.

Yes, the slabs are a lot smoother but I personally don't really notice a loss of grip.

Now, lets see some pictures of those finished products!

Here's a couple of quick photos of the finished product. Now I need a couple more CRK folders.....one with a g10 scale and maybe one that I can send out to get the frame textured. It's a sickness I tell ya! :)

Ponte,

I agree, it is like a sickness. I have never collected, or had much use for, more than one or two(rarely) of anything. Now I seem almost less content with each CRK that I am fortunate enough to acquire. It's weird I tell ya.

Hey, BTW, that looks great!

IMHO there's nothing that can compare to a small scotchbrited Insingo with silver hardware.
Knifewise, anyway :)

That Zaan is frickin sweet. Does this void the warranty?

Yes, but they will still work on the knife if you pay for it, as far as I know.

I like that look as well, I keep meaning to blast the heardwear on my Umnumzaan but keep forgetting to do it. :foot:

Looks really good man, I think I might scotchbrite my pln 21 today since I got my dreaded layoff notice yesterday:eek:

I think as long as the changes you make are aesthetic and not functional changes the warranty isn't void.

I just sent in a Scotchbrited Insingo to have some mod stuff done (which I paid for) and at no add'l cost they sharpened it and re-heat treated the lock face, which in turn required the outside of the scales the be re-sand blasted. (the day after I got it I Scotchbrited it again)

That's cold man. :grumpy: Yes, I know my camera sucks. Thanks for pointing it out Captain Obvious!

Can't be certain, but I think he was referring to the OP and he was serious. I could be wrong though, but I don't think it was directed at you. If it was, what a dick lol.

I personally always prefer the little mirrors on my seb, but this does look good on a scotchbrited seb.
