This week's offering is a "harpoon hunter". I really dig the lines on this knife. The steel is 1095 spring steel, with a very solid heat treatment that consisted of normalizing, thermal cycling, pre-quench, quench, and triple tempers. It is plenty hard, roughly 64-65HRC. It is also thin at the spine and thin at the edge for exceptional cutting and slicing. The blade shape has a nice gentle curve with plenty of belly for slicing, and a fine point for easy penetration into tough hide. Blade finish is a satin, hand rubbed 800 grit. The handle is made from Purple Heart and Mesquite, separated by a white G10 spacer, and includes white G10 liners. The handle shape fits my hand like it was molded in place! Even on a reverse grip it has an excellent feel, which surprised me because finger grooves can interfere with certain grip styles. This one just fits well, no matter how you hold it. Black micarta pins and epoxy keep the scales secured to the tang. Hunting season is coming upon us quickly!

OAL: 7 1/2:
Blade: 3 1/2" (3 1/4" cutting edge)
Handle: 4"
Thickness at ricasso: 0.072" tapered to point
Edge: 30° inclusive, 0.010" edge shoulder
Sharpening: Norton India Coarse, Norton India Fine, King 4000 edge trailing (VERY sharp edge)

Stuart, if someone has not bought this by noon central tomorrow, I’ll take it. I’m knife poor, but your knives cut and sharpen so well, I have a hard time saying no. 17.5 hours give it take....
