Hi everyone, This one is a bit different from what I normally make. I decided that I wanted to make a light weight general purpose fixed blade that would lend itself well to edc and work. This is what I came up with. It is comfortable to carry, the sheath works perfectly, and it cuts unbelievably well. The handle is not the prettiest but is light, grippy and virtually indestructible.

Specs

Steel: 3/32" 1095 @ 61Rc Heat Treated by Darrin Sanders
Grind: Right Hand Chisel Saber ground with screaming sharp convex edge. Harpoon tip!
Handle: Kydex wrapped with paracord then epoxy soaked.
Finish: Satin scotchbrite belt finish
7.25" OAL, 3.25" cutting length, 1" tall
4.5oz /w sheath, knife alone is 3oz

This one is $110 shipped CONUS with tracking and insurance. I take Paypal, USPS MO and cashiers check. First "I'll take it" gets it. My email is markellmtthw@aol.com. Lifetime common sense warranty with free sharpening.

Boltaron(Kydex) sheath included. I made a paracord belt loop system for it, this one is right hand vertical only but if you don't like it the sheath is small and large TekLok compatible. Excellent retention, you could carry this as a neck knife. While testing the knife, I found it very comfortable to carry on my belt upside down.

Thanks for looking everybody, feel free to leave a comment!

really cool knife! I do wish the tip was brought up a bit to give the knife a bit more belly for edc, but what I wish even more would be have the money to buy this one! really dig the chisel grind and sheath as well

Thanks for the feedback! The point on this one is pretty much directly centered with the handles. There is some belly but not to much. I have one more blank ready to grind in this style(sans poon tip) and I may try something with more belly.

I can't really tell by the pictures' but did you back grind the knife?? Thanks Walt

The secondary bevel is on the back(left hand) side. This makes the knife cut straighter then having it on the right hand side and is a really nice versatile grind. Easy to sharpen too.

Very unique and original knife Matt. I can't ever remember seeing one like it here. I bet that thing can really cut!

Thanks Mudbug! Harpoon tips aren't that new of a thing but I sure do like the look they give a knife. I will tell you right now that this is one of the sharpest knives to ever leave my shop, everything came together perfectly and it whittles hair with absolute ease. I'll have to see if I can get a photo of that, it's pretty cool.

It quiet in here guys, let me what you like/dislike about it :)

I think that your design for the blade looks real nice and I like the grind. Some people are afraid of chisel grinds but they are my favorite.
I think that a non wrapped handle of something like G10 would be a big improvement.

Thanks and noted! I have some CPM 154 and CPM M4 coming in that I would like to make similar style blades out of and I'll keep that in mind.

I can't believe I didn't see this one!
I'm not big on the chisel grind but I dig on the harpoon!
(PS the red guy I got from you is now my go EDC!)

Glad you like it! I got your package in yesterday btw, many thanks!

I have some knives in progress that are similar but made in CPM M4 and are hidden tang. I'm getting ready to send them out to heat treat, they are going to be some sweet lightweight cutters!
