I never thought it would come to this, but up for grabs is one of my all time favorite forged, MS knives.
This is a pretty famous knife, it's been featured both on Harvey's website as well as very prominently featured in Blade Magazine, and I believe it was in a Knives Illustrated Annual, though I don't recall which one. The Blade article it was a focus of was from April 2005.
It is the nicest Dean "Huckleberry" I have ever seen, the bolsters are fully engraved by world class engraver, and of course top Mastersmith, Steve Dunn. The fine scroll and floral pattern has a lot of 24k gold inlayed into it.
The perfectly forged and ground 5" blade has a gorgeous high grit, hand satin finish, the knife is mint, with not a speck of rust to be found.
The handle is the best looking fossil ivory I have seen to date, it is glossier than the pics show, and seems like aqua-blue and tan glass, with great patterning. The handle is affixed and adorned with 3 large 18k yellow gold pins, the ivory is totally stable, with zero shrinkage or cracking.
It will come in a Bill's zipper case, shipped overnight, with no PayPal fees added for $2250. I will only ship to a confirmed PP address though.
A true one of a kind, very dramatic and striking, and of course, a very well known example of a rare model from Dean, with masterful engraving by MS Steve Dunn, about as good as it gets in the forged fixed blade world. This is I think the hardest one to let go so far, but I kind of need to pay some bills, so, first to email and say they'll take it gets it to their door in a day.
Thanks for looking, the knife is far nicer than the pictures suggest, the ivory is much more rich and colorful in person. If you don't agree, send it back, no problem.
