harvey draper dagger

Here's a quote from his website:

"Gil is sometimes referred to as the Johnny Appleseed of knifemakers as new knifemakers seem to pop up everywhere he goes. He has taught and influenced some of the other legendary knifemakers such as S.R. Johnson, Harvey Draper and Buster Warenski among countless others."

I was working at Silver Dollar City when he was the master knifemaker there but unfortunately never got to know him. Oh well, you know what they say about hindsight.

I remembered a whole lot better 5 years ago. Gil's reach in the 60s and 70s was far out and then the Draper family spread that even further Manti was a true center of knife greatness. with SRJ teaching makers like John Young it is spreading even further.
