Has a knife ever changed your miind completely?

Spyderco Delica did it for me.

I had only cheap folders - Gerber, Case, Barlow. Didn't care for Spydercos at all. Then I discovered this forum and got an Endura off the Exchange at a great price to see what all the fuss was about. Nice but still a bit lukewarm. Then I got a Delica and it was amazing.

I was very luke warm on the Endura also. Have two of them (plain and fully serrated). They see very little use as in, they stay in my rubbermaid tub full of knives. The Delica was perfect!

Busse SAR 3. Initial impression was not very positive. After sitting on the shelf for two years I started to use it on my fishing trips. It has turned out to be my most used small fixed blade.

During a phone conversation with a friend some 40 years ago he told me about a Herters Improved Bowie. He told me they cost less than $2 and it was the best knife he had ever owned. On a whim and a glowing description by George Herter himself I reluctantly ordered one. During those 40 years I've cleaned many game animals with it including several deer. I've used it as a kitchen knife slicing and dicing all manner of food stuffs. It holds and edge very well and so far I've not been able to destroy it or wear it out. Shortly after my first one I ordered another. It is still unused in a drawer.... it does not look like I'll ever need it.

I used to hate liner locks because after having cheaper made knives the lock would tend to fail.

A Spyderco Military changed that for me. Also used to not care for frame locks either but a Sebenza and ZT helped with that

The Strider SMF showed me that one knife could do more things then I ever imagined and not fail....

Instead of a backpack full of tools, I carried an SMF for 6 months and beat the hell out of it, and it never compained...not once!

I am now using an XM-18, and it doesn't compain either.

These two knives are finally what I've been looking for, reliable tools that have earned their place in my pocket.

Been there done that, you'll get over it. [emoji38]

Best lock up us a fixed blade.

My first CRK and first real Hinderer were "mind changers and heart breakers."

Can't tell you how many times I've bought a knife and said "I'll never sell this." 4-6 months later it's gone. Here's the only knife I've never sold and beat the crap out of.
