I don't want to pick any scabs, but has anybody that has a knife with Drew recieved one back or any message from him? Sent him mine on 9/10/99.

Wow, if it's been that long then it's a scab worth picking. When I saw Drew's post a few months back explaining the circumstances that led to his "disappearance", I was hoping that he'd gotten everything in order and would make good on all the work that he'd promised. He's extremely talented, as evidenced by the work he did on my Starmate. What a shame that he's STILL not done the right thing. Sigh....

well geez, nobody but me and one guy that e-mailed me have knives wih Drew? Crap, I sent him a $150.00 AlMar and a $100 money order and he told me I would at least see what it looked like before he sent it to G2 for a sheath by the second week of Nov/99. What can we do? You know the postal service inspectors don't mess with such piss ant ripoffs like this. He could at least tell us why he has faileed to meet his obligations. What can we do? Unlike Orge, I'm not willing to let this slide anymore.

Bill, the Postal Inspextors DO like cases like this because they will clear quickly. I too have a knife with Drew and have not heard from him since the apologetic email saying he was "working" on it. Come on Drew, time for another email. Bill, contact your local Postal Inspector and give him the email addresses of the guys (me included)involved. Could be a misunderstanding, but this IS getting a little old.

Yeah, I too have sent a knife to Drew. It's been so long that I forgot exactly when I did send it to him. I understand things can get pushed back and the last posting I had on the situation with Drew I stated that I will give him the time he needs to do my knife right.

But I too haven't heard a thing from him. He has my email addess, my home address, and my phone number. It would be the right thing to do to at least contact us and let us know how far into the work he is.

I also believe a bunch of us would be relieved if he just took a little time out and let us know "What's up". I still stand by my post of giving him time, but my patience is wearing thin especially since I can't recieve a little courtesy to be notified in person as to the status of my knife.

Starting to be disappointed,
Ross T.

Last time this was brought up, I think Kodiak PA was hinting that Drew had some kind of medical ailment. This is not an excuse for him, I just wanted to bring it up again because, I'm concerned. It wasn't like Drew to let this happen at all.

I don't remember anything about medical ailments. What I do remember seeing is Drew posting that he had a position with Wal-Mart that took a lot of his time due to going to a new opening further away than his shop, requiring that he needed to stay in that area and could only occasionally get to his shop and home.

He apologized and said he would contact us and let us know where our projects were and that he had trouble getting online because the computer he used was with his shop, not where he currently resides due to his job with WMart.

I just want to know what's going on that's all. I hate not being contacted and not knowing what is up with my knife project. I'm very easy to work with and am very resonable if given a update once in awhile, heck an update ONCE. But I'm really starting to worry.

If he does have a medical ailment, I hope it isn't serious and he does get better. Just let me know if that IS the problem. See I don't know anything of what's going on now and that bothers me. I think it bothers the others also. A dropped line or a post letting us know whats going on would relieve a lot of the stress and concern thats going on here.

Again if he is sick I pray he does get better and whatever it is goes away. But please if anyone has anyway of contacting him I would like to hear of what's going on with my project.

Ross T.
PS. Sorry bill boyd....I'm sure you want to know what's up with your blade also. Got a little carried away with the me, me, me thingy and forgot you started this thread. You should know what's up too. Sorry

This is the post I was referring to, I hope Greg doesn't mind me re-posting this.

George,
I can understand your disappointment and frustration. I have tried behind the scenes to rectify this for all concern and I thought I did and to be honest I do not understand why you do not have your knife back. All I can think is that my friend Drew is trying to complete your mods even though I advised him just to send all the knives back. He did not cash any checks.
I will say however that Drew Gleason IS one of the most honorable men I have ever known and I have really valued his friendship over the last year. That being said, I still think your knife should be in your hand at this point. There are other things going on in the employment and health arena for Drew though I am not at the liberty to go into that without his permission. I will say that I know this experience pains him greatly and that he truly wanted to rectify this situation. I will tell you what. I went so far that I asked Drew to mete out my knives to my sons in the event something happens to me. I trust him that much.

Dr Welch deduced that some things are happening in Drew's life right now that makes this a sticky situation and he is right. That being said, I advised Drew to forego the mods and just send everyone's knife back. My bet is that he wants to finish it for you. I hope if that is the case when you get it you can get some enjoyment out of it and that you have it back ASAP. I feel that it should be sent back to you no matter what stage the mods are at that point.

I am sorry you are going through all this. I know how you feel but there are things happening that mitigate this somewhat. Frustration however, can't be mitigated sometimes and for that I am truly sorry.

Respectfully yours,

I wasnt going to touch this subject - but I thought maybe I should.

I neither have heard form him - nor recieved my knife - 9 months now for a 15 minute mod.

Old isnt a word I would use...

Drew is without honor if he can not fullfill his obligations or even be bothered with communications.
I had extended offers of assistance and I am sure every one here would be more than willing to pass a collection plate to help out a fellow forum member during a hard time - especially a member gifted with a talent in the knife arena and had been of service to many.
At this point - the only assistance I would give him is a statement to an investigator.
BUT - should he honor his obligation and finish my damn knife - I would honor mine and pay the full agreed price for it.
I no longer want the knife. The knife would go up for sale or trade almost instantly. Even if I dont want the knife - I want him to do what he said he would do...
4 weeks after that "explaination" he posted he did send me an email asking if I wanted it completed. DUH! Do what you said Drew!
Maybe someone else here on the forums would like the knife - fine - but by god you will do what you said! Honor our agreement if you be a Man!

There is no valid reason why these gentlemen shouldn't have their knives at this time. I did the best I could behind the scenes to rectify this situation and for a time I thought I had. I haven't been able to contact Drew for weeks now (his student email account doesn't work now).

I am very disappointed. I understand George's frustration and I have no valid reason to justify Drew's obvious omission here. This has gone on wayyyyy too long.

George, I wish there was something more I could do.

Sincerely,

George, sorry to hear that you still haven't received the knife yet...my BM850S's value drops each day that Drew goes unspoken.

I think it's safe to say, the knives, and the money are long gone. Their is no reason why someone couldn't pop in here and spend 2 mins. with another "explaination."

I'm neither holding my breath nor losing sleep about this.
I wrote that knife off. Pitty - it was a gift from a very special person... but it was just a cheap production knife - a Mini AFCK... Well - a hundred buck production knife.
I consider it to be stolen by a Con Man.
Yes - I said that. I feel that I have been robbed.

If I get it back - and it is as I had sent it... maybe I shall sent it to another fellow who does mods... someone who will get the job done.

Thanks for the help guys - that means a lot to me...

Well, I e-mailed Drew last Thursday at littlebearknives@yahoo.com
and have no response. I did a search and got his phone number in Sharon. All I get is a recording saying my call cannot be completed as dialed.
Does anyone know how to reach him personally.
Please e-mail me. Thanks.

Greg(Kodiak PA), I know you are his friend, do you want to contact Greg again before I go to the Postal Inspectors? I am a letter carrier and the way my schedule look right now..with mandatoy overtime/no off days, it will probably be two weeks before I have a day off to contact the inspectors. But, as much as I hate to, contact them I will.
If any one wants to contact me, I will include your names and addresses in my complaint.
