Hello all- OK, lets get real for a second. I know "The Commander is a great knife and I don't always need to open it via the wave", we've heard all the stories, but c'mon !!!
A waveless Commander, well that's just about as interesting and useful as non-alcoholic beer

Don,

U r too funny. I have heard that some like to flick it instead because it is so blade heavy. I still prefer the wave.

Dudes,
I'll take a waveless Commander. But not "discless." I carry IWB, (R) appendix position, and the wave dosen't work reliably for me. I've lost two knives clipped inside my right front pocket (I guess the action of bending and crouching pushes them loose.) Also, I don't want the knife in contact with the keys and crap in the pocket.

The wave works GREAT in the pocket carry, though, and I guess I might buy a waved knife because it would be easier to sell. No doubt, the wave is a popular and desired feature. Then, there are those plastic holsters available on the Emerson site, designed to activate the wave,.....they just look bulky and unsecure.

Have you tried bending the clip a little, so it "grips" the pocket lining a little tighter? That might help with the issue of it working itself out... as for keys and such, I keep those in my left pocket, and the knife, and my money, in the right - nothing hard in there (I'm gonna get it for this one, I can FEEL it...) to scratch the knife.

Hmmmm... cuz I'm a righty? I know, I know - I should practice lefty just in case... I'm just lazy. Besides - I get sidelong glances from the sheeple at work with just ONE knife... I don't even want to think abouit what'd happen if I started wearing two or more!
