Hello wise forum.

I am hoping someone can tell me if the MINI Sog Spec Elite can be opened just by flicking your wrist.

I know it can be opened easily if you pull back the lock mechanism and flick your wrist, but I need to know if it can be opened ONLY with the wrist flick.

Thank you wise forum.

i have the Regular 4 incher and with a Downward snap and then UP it opens like an Auto....have Two and they both do the same with NO mods....try it with yours and reply.

Re-reading your question I see you may Not own one, sorry for the confusion. Mine is the Smaller version so it May be referred to as Mini, 4inch compared to Larger 5inch. Mine opens and closes one-handed like a Dream, the Snap is NOT very forceful and works Great!

I have a 4" and 5" version and I can open them like a gravity knife. That said, I can do that with just about any knife with all but the strongest detent. I would think any cop could open that little thing like a gravity knife if he/she really wanted to, if that is why you are asking. This is because the Arc and axis lock knives have a weak detent.

Yeah, if I can manage to do it with a Cold Steel Tuff Lite I can't imagine the Mini Spec Elite wouldn't do it. You could probably tighten the pivot to the point where it wasn't possible, but that may create issues getting the knife open.

Come to think of it, i can do it on every modern knife I own, arc-axis locks being the easiest. The only ones I can't are slip joints, multitools, and knives that lock closed. Sort of distressing that most modern knives can be considered gravity knives. Good thing I stay out of trouble and the LEOs would be much more interested in my CCed Glock, legally of course.
