Has anyone ever used A36 for guards or other hardware on any of your knives? I know it's garbage for blades, but I have access to a bunch of it for no cost. Before I grab some from my father-in-law's stash, I want to hear if anyone has used this mild steel with good results for guards, butt caps, bolsters, etc. Thanks in advance.
