I have killed and eaten MANY rabbits and squirrels with a slingshot when I was younger.

Saunders Falcon II

Unfortunately they are illegal in NJ now. Go figure.

I shot two rabbits in the side with a wrist rocket using pebbles as ammo. The bunnies hopped away. Did kill a Gerbil with one.

Go down to the dollar store and buy the hundred 'rounds' of ammo, er, marbles, in the net bags. Leaves no trace if you miss they will shatter on impact, uh, what slingshot....Also, cheap bags of either round lead fishing sinkers, ball bearings, etc will float your boat for years to come. I never tire of my fun, and can plinkin' can be a great way to spend an afternoon iin the Summer! rig a 2x4 so you can place the cans on them and then hang a old sheet behind it a few yards back to catch your ammo. Does'nt get cheaper than this for good old fashioned fun for all ages! Yes, head shots on varmits drop them like stones, hope yer dog is a retriever type 'cause going into the briars to retrieve the wee bastids ain't part of the fun...Also, always do like the squirrels and keep the Sun to your back when hunting them.

Don't use pebbles, use ROCKS! Metallic spheres and cylinders are preferable, obviously, but they don't generally grow out in the field.

But don't use "pebbles." It's not a lightsaber, you actually have to KILL them. I'm glad you don't live in the middle east man! We know what you're bringing to the stoning! FISH TANK GRAVEL! :D

I've taken squirrels rabbits and grous with a slingshot when I was young...my skills have unfortunately decayed some since than... I recently made a slingshot after reading the threads but haven't shot it much yet...Marbles and .36 cal black powder balls work great as well. gotta get head shots on the squirrels though, I find them more resilient than rabbits (go figure)

That is bs you cant have a slingshot.

Why can't he ignore the law and own a slingshot? Do the Invaders of Poland, i.e., the NJ State Police check for slingshots and do they go door to door looking for them? :D

He said he did it when he was younger anyway, you know what I mean.

Dare to actually read a statement. :D

Rabbits, squirrels, various birds and a big assed lizard in Kuwait, 45 cal lead round balls prefered ammo. Chris

By the way, I sent your message to NSA, BenchmadeB, and they told me that you were actually commenting that it was bullshit the guy could not have a slingshot...I think. :D

Benchmadebob, you need to read our laws. It IS against the law in NJ to possess a slingshot:jerkit:

I think, at times, you just have to ignore totally stupid laws and live your life the way you want to. Or move, I'd like to move...

PrimitiveMan, PM me where are you in NJ? I have something for you....

What? A warrant? :D

The fact that possession of a slingshot is a felony weapons charge in NJ makes me absolutely sick. I didn't even realize this fact until I want looking for more info on slingshots after seeing the recent videos on the subject here in WSS.

It is sick and it is stupid. The last thread a week or so ago...we were talking about it and about Joisey. Politicians have way too much money and time on their hands when they start doing ludicrous shit like this.

Will Rogers once said, "This country has come to feel the same when Congress is in session as when the baby gets hold of a hammer."

The same could be said for every state, city and county government, council, legislature, etc.

Rask', where in NJ are you PM me.

Don It's as stupid a law as ever, and though folks have other weapons, a slingshot should be the least of the LEOs worries I would think these days. That said I have a few local LEOs who I'm familiar with, and they me, and one time one of them saw 'something' but just did not acknowledge it.

Here's the deal, yes, it's against a law on the books, but so is what Mr Maddoff just did to over a 1,000 people's futures. If one happened to have the parts, separate, but available then it's sort of like ammo and a gun being separate but together.

Yeah, I'm not going to turn this into a political thread, but we are the Kings of corruption. Not one second term politician in the state (State, County or Municipal) is clean. I know, because I served 1 term.

Anyway, a slingshot is very capable. I was accurate as he!! back in the day.

The EXACT DAY after I get photographs of Whitey, the albino deer up the road is the day I move out of this forsaken state:barf: I am in the process of buying a truck, already 90% packed to move. I was leaving last year but contracted a VERY bad case of Lyme Disease and had to stay for treatment, which then killed my finances, which caused me to sell off my knife collection amongst other personal stuff to pay the medical bills, etc. I still have a 'rubber band' and a forked stick somewhere in the woods:confused: and it's coming with me when I leave:cool:

I am for the logical and reasonable application of the law. I believe we should have stop signs and traffic lights. I don't think any jurisdiction should make money off of red light cameras, it should not be promoted to the public as a safety device and then used as a revenue generation device. Yet, that is how they were introduced in various areas of the country along with the shortening of the yellow light to make more money off of them and causing the creation of the "dilemma zone" which caused a lot of accidents...something they were designed to prevent.

I'm not an anarchist.

I'm absolutely positive that New Jersey had laws on the books for years about breaking people's windows on purpose and for restitution to be made if it was on purpose or by accident. Likewise, it would have been illegal to use some type of slingshot to assault someone. The law was simply not necessary. I know that you know that, I'm just explaining my position.
