Hello to all: I am in a bit of a quandry. I have been trying to get an update on some sheath work that Mike is doing for some time now but he does not answer e-mail. I have had limited luck calling. Does anyone know if he is around and still doing sheaths? Has he had some setback or something? Any insight is helpful, I am close to writing a Good, Bad, Ugly post. I prefer not doing that. Thanks in advance for the help.

Doug,
I talked with him last week, he seemed to be real busy with sheath work at that time. I don't know your situation but if you don't know Mike he is a real stand-up kinda guy, the kind you would want watchin' your six. He'll come through for 'ya and everything I've ever seen from his shop was well worth any delays.
Regards,
Clyde

I also had to wait a bit for a return email recently, but Mike did get back to me after four or five days. I think he's just very busy and not checking his email too regularly.

I agree completely with rawhide_clyde about Mike. He is one of the best! If he's not getting back to you promptly it's only because he's holed-up in his workshop working on your stuff.

I bet he is working on my 9 sheaths I have on order from him!

(4 IWB's and 5 snappers for my various user knives.) I know he said several weeks ago that he was busy with some large orders.

I have just been super impressed with him and the email/phone conversations. By the way.. no one call him... I want my sheaths as soon as possible!

Thanks for the replies. Let me clarify. I have several sheaths from Mike and have been happy with his work. The quandry is that he has had this order since July; that seems like a long wait. Hopefully that clarifies things a bit.

Mike is indeed a very busy guy, and probably doesn't spend as much time at his computer as some of us do. I will also say that sheath making is not his only vocation, though with all the business he's been getting he probably feels like it is. I'm sure he will get in touch with you as soon as he is able.

Mike is a good guy and his stuff is some the best. I have had many custom sheaths made by Mike. Just be prepared to wait if you send knives for custom work. As you can tell by the above posts, he is very busy at all times and also does work for some of the production companies. I sent him three neck knives and a Spyder "Toad" to make sheaths for, (I did tell him "no rush"), and it took four months. He also has two large fixed blades of mine right now working on "Southern Comfort" sheaths for them and it's been two months. He did ask if he could take pics of them when completed for his new website. I'm not complaining at all but be forewarned, his custom work takes time. If it's true that he's had your knives since last July, yes, I would certainly wonder why?
