Has anyone here been involved in an emergency where you had to hard use your knife to save someone's life?

Were you able to keep the Pork-chop Express?
You just listen to the old Pork Chop Express here now and take his advice on a dark and stormy night when the lightning's crashin' and the thunder's rollin' and the rain's coming down in sheets thick as lead. Just remember what old Jack Burton does when the earth quakes, and the poison arrows fall from the sky, and the pillars of Heaven shake. Yeah, Jack Burton just looks that big old storm right square in the eye and he says, "Give me your best shot, pal. I can take it."

I used a dull Cold Steel SRK VG-1 San Mai to try and fend of a Grizzly. Unfortunately, he ended up killing me. I blame the blade steel. If 3V had been available at the time, it’s likely I’d still be alive. Even VG-10 would have likely given me the edge I needed. YMMV

Was it one of the grizzly bears that Flick saw by Pulaski's candy store?

Not hard use. But i used to cut suicide victims off their noose a lot with my Spyderco as a law enforcement officer if they didn't seem dead for weeks True story. And we had a guy who cut his friends neck when the friend hung himself and the guy found him minutes later and grabbed a pocket knife and cut him free. I had to sit on the victims lap while the Emergency doctor tried to intubate him in his death struggle holding him down because due to the hypoxia he was fighting us. Then he pissed his pants. I was on his lap. True story. And i did use my multitool once to cut the corpses of two little sisters who burned to death due to a house fire because they melted in the metal frame of their matress so we could bring their corpse to the medical examiner. I saw them burn to death the night before but couldn't reach them because it was too hot. True story. I once stood next to a car crash and we tried to pull the 4 victims out but the car was too mangled up because it was stuck under a semi. Then the car cought fire. Do you what sound the victims make when they burn alive? I still hear them sometimes. True story. Do you wonder why i have PTSD? I have seen a lot of shit in my life. Asking these questions might trigger answers you don't like....i can tell you a lot of "emergency stories", but most of the time people don't want to hear them.

Good lord man, reading that gave me PTSD.
Much respect

Well yeah as a matter of fact a couple of times including my own hide or so I thought. As a correction officer in a max prison used a tiny pen knife to cut the hangman's noose from a couple of inmates that attempted suicide. A lot of that crap on the night shift with wrist slashing and the sort. Most nooses were pretty sad and cut easily. Also around 11 years back was hiking my dog through a state forest when a coyote spotted my dog and started running towards it. Evidently I was hidden for the moment from his view by a shrub but he saw my dog 10 feet in front. Did not take me long to pull my old trusty Puma Skinner from the sheath with the 5 inch blade. Sure he would have chomped us but was not going down without a fight! luckily when I screamed Get the Fu** out of here he made fast tracks for the hills. Probably not rabid. Glad to have the knife but since then also pack my S&W CS-9. Seven rounds of H.P. gives me a better edge if I can connect!!
