• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

i like the blade shape of the ontarios rat knive but those handles just look to simple and not realy a good grip. so have you or anyone ever grinded filed cut theses scales to ther liking and how did it come out. And if you have them pics would be cool.

I had one and the scales were pretty thin, if one were to want to remove material, that is. They are about as thin as I would want without removing more. I did consider making new scales, starting with thicker material so I could ontour them a little. That said, I honestly found the handle to be pretty comfortable in spite of my initial impression just from looking at them. Since they are removable, you're out only a little time if you make your own and don't like them. You could always put the originals back on.

I sanded mine (RAT-5 and RAT-7), to round the corners and make some relief for my index finger when using the choil. No pics, but the mods aren't so noticeable, visually, anyway. Hand size varies, but I found the scales bulky enough to allow plenty of room for significant re-contouring.
