Has anyone read "When All Hell Breaks Loose" ?

i thought it was a great read... definately worth checking out... it has a lot of valuble/random information in it... i also really like Cody Lundin's no non-sense writting... :D

Cody's writing is some of the best as far as survival books go. I have both his books and found them entertaining and full of great info.

Just an FYI for those that have read his two books, and like me think they are awesome.....good news, he is getting ready to start on a third one, he's keeping the title and content under wraps for right now, but more will be released in the coming months.

Yep, I've read it and echo the above comments. Some REAL interesting information in this book.

He's covered wilderness and urban survival...He's also quite renowned in eco-friendly technologies, maybe something a bit lighter-hearted about living green? I'd read it. Just because he wrote it, but I'd read it.

+1 on the above. The writing style is entertaining, especially with the numerous "sidebars" throughout.

The information is valuable and meaningful. I learned a lot from this book.

Both good reads. He is working on another book which should be out sometime in 2010 too.

Well, it looks like I'll be the only one to disagree. I though his book 98.6 Degrees was a very practical and well written book. His second one, When All Hell Breaks Loose, I didn't like nearly as well. It covered many areas of urban survival that would never apply to me personally, and many impractical suggestions regarding the same. I would save my money for a different book.

I just finished it, and I thought it was a good book for those in suburban or maybe rural areas. Some of the stuff would probably apply to urban as well, but is best suited, I think for those with a yard, with room for a garden, sanitation trench, etc.

That does it. I've been procrastinating on buying his latest, so guess I better get it ordered.

I liked 98.6 more as well. He get's preachy at times and flat out bird walks into odd ramblings of hippyness and oddness at times.

It is fine for information - just feel free to skip portions if needed.

There was a really great book put out on this same subject matter about 12 years ago. The book was/is entitled "No Such Thing As Doomsday" by Philip Hoag. I heard Mr. Hoag do the talk show circuit on many alternative media radio shows and I was very interested in his broad knowledge of survival techniques. From what I've heard in the past year that book is still in print and available through many sources.

I definitely want to read this "When All Hell Breaks Loose" as well.

I'm in the middle of reading it right now... so far so good. Although, I prefer reading the SAS Survival Handbook.
