I don't like the new shiny clips that Spyderco is using on most of their knives now.
Has anyone used gun bluing to make the clip darker. What kind of results ??

What about paint....does black paint with clear coat work ?

what i do for those is putting them in the middle of my gas burner when cooking, it gives a nice dull bronze heat coloration and doesn't seem to affect spring effect or resistance so far.

that or a ferric chloride patina.

I'm wonderin' if maybe a mustard or coffee paste would darken them up? Hmmm.... I think i'm goin' to try it out and will let y'all know.
