Has the economy effected your INFI (or blades in general)?

Absolutely, I am a freelancer and had not been without constant work for 15 years. Until last year. 2009 basically turned out to be an un-welcomed year off. I was prepared for it but as a result have definitely cut back on things like buying more knives.

Here's to 2010 being a more productive, lucrative, successful and infi filled year for all.

Doing ok, but the amount of cash for non-essentials has dried up a bunch...

I think it has hit most people hard.
I noticed that there was at best about half as many people at Blade last June.

yup, not much Infi lately, i've been a Tattoo Artist for the last 20 years and this is the worst year i've had financially, hopefully 2010 will be the year of Busse!

The economy and my wife's cancer has really hurt my buying. Even had to sell a few blades.

Being poor SUX

To Quote a coworker, "I'd hav' ta' fart in my wallet just to get a "s/cent" in it"........not sure how it reads, but it was funnier than all get out to hear it!

That read perfect. ROFL!

I'm going to have to use that one.:D:D:thumbup:

I'm stealing that line. And I'm not giving any credit. :p

And I'm only buying Moras at present. :D

If a thin Boss Street should emerge, however, I'll starting farting like crazy.

I was laid off in July. I spent two months out of work but thankfully have been back in work since September. I had to slim down on all 'toys' including my gun collection to the ones I really used. My S&W 357, FNH PS90, 5.7, Ruger LCP and AK47 (miled MAK90) all headed out the door to lucky buyers.

Our industry (advertising) was hit pretty hard but I am seeing a lot more interest from clients already this year. 2010 is definitely looking like it will be a better year.

Europe has been hit hard as well, albeit later than in the US. For me (I am an auditor at one of the Big 4 accountant firms) 2009 was financially a below-average year resulting in 10% lay-offs and budget cuts, but the worst is yet to come as we expect considerable losses in 2010 and more lay-offs. So I am cautious with buying luxury items and stick to what I really need. Busse-wise, I hardly buy any new Busses as their prices are totally outlandish due to Dutch import taxes (up to 35%!) and high shipping costs (up to 50 USD), although a Scrapyard SOD LE on the secondary market was too tempting to resist.

Bring some more Comp finish except but the handles on them with screws to allow easy removal. They way we can finish the blade to satin, bead blast or high polish ourselves.

Sure it has. Have had to skip on buying a lot of interesting things because the money's needed more elsewhere. This kind of economy isn't good for one's knife budget I'll say. :D

Now this is an idea I can get behind. I have access to all kinds of fun machine shop equipment, and the main thing stopping me from using it is the hassle of drilling out and then flaring new tube fasteners. With removable handles, I'd have that thing bead blasted to a double cut finish about five minutes after it arrived. Saving money and getting a better finish - you can't go wrong.

I've been in the construction trade all my life, Yeah things have deffinatally slowed way down. But I guess I could always sell a gun or two :( if I get to needing an INFI fix. Thats been my main hobby for some time.
