Has there ever been......

You have to dodge the Schrade patrol! We, errr I mean THEY confiscate all Schrades!!
Seriously, I could probably find you a ride. They come from all over Oregon to that show, never mind all over the U.S! My good friend travels all the way from Winsted, CT, 3-4000 miles!!

No snakes, few bugs, lots of knives! Biggest show for knives only in the U.S.A.

It all sounds good. Oregon or Tennessee. I have a brother near Cincinnati, and a sister in Chattanooga. Codgers farm falls right in the sweet spot. Oregon knife show sounds good. Bob, you live just a crow hop away from the middle of Kansas. Maybe some time I'll cruise down your way and bring some knives. I never need an excuse to go to Colorado or New Mexico. Nothing wrong with an online swap meet in the mean time. Can we do a sticky swap on this forum, like on the traditional fixed and slip forum?

I don't know if we would need 'permission' first or not. But if someone else starts it, I'd definitely participate.

Yes. Permission would be required. We are a unique forum in that we do not have a factory sponsor, and no active moderator. Therefore, when we want to do something like make a sticky, or have a special event, or are attacked by spammers, we have to approach the supermods in supplication and ask for their guidence/intercession. Let this ride just a bit more to see if there is sufficient interest here among Schrade collectors, then I will ask the right people.

A Schrade only swap thread would be great! Anything made by Schrade as well; Any other votes?

I would love to have a place where we could swap or sell knives with only Schrades. It's not that I have anything against other knives, just like to focus on Schrades.

I still want an excuse to visit Bob in Raton as long as it is warm enough to go fishing and there is a good place close by to eat green chile. I'm not afraid of mountain rattlers.

No excuse necessary. :)

Lots of good fishing spots - mountain streams, lakes, reservoirs.
Green chili. Yep, we have that. Best Mexican restraunt is over the hill though, in Trinidad, Colorado. The Raton Pass is an incredible amount of fun, either on a motorcycle or in the convertible.
I really haven't seen that many rattlers around Raton. A few, but not a lot.

I prefer our 'friendly' rattles over the South's Cottonmouths and Copperheads any day. A good rattler will give you plenty of warning that you're too close. A Copperhead just lays there, waiting until someone steps on it.

Apparently there is something like ebay starting up and its where you just swap. They say it is going to be huge!!! I dont know much else my wife mentioned it to me yesterday. I like the idea also, especially great for collectors.

I'd rather swap with people I trust, and people who actually need the items. Trade to a stranger and maybe you get nothing in return, or maybe they stick the item on eBay with a $50 Reserve and exagerated shipping charges...

Let's all get together at the Blade Show '07 in Atlanta , I think it's in June. I'm trying to get there anyway :) .
Eric

Atlanta I could do!! I can make it there in 12 hrs. I love road trips, especially if it meant some of us could get together. I'll go anywhere.

2007 Atlanta Blade Show is June 8-10. Doubt I can make it, but it would be a great road trip.

But June in Atlanta? Ugh... Why not February in Fairbanks?
