Has this ever happened to you?

I have no need for any more knives, but darnation, I just spent outrageous amount of money for another. :D

I don't hunt, fish, camp, make fires, etc.
Those things are illegal where I live, except fishing. Yes, making a fire is illegal.
And I bought a Mora last week.
Sorry if im getting off topic here but, seriously??? is hunting illegal?!??
i feel SOOOOO sorry for you guys if thats true!:thumbdn:

I got into Barkies because of KF. Kept staring at those online until I ended up over at Spyderco on BF. Not sure how, but I landed next on Traditional and Wilderness and Survival. It's been all down hill since then.

I purposely stay out of the Custom subforum!!! and the For Sale area!!

Almost literally true. There is some hunting in Holland, most if not all of it done in the context of wildlife management. You have to be a registered hunter, be on some type of list. And then you get to cull some deer, swine or birds every once in a while.
Pretty rare. And no one can just go out and shoot something wild. In fact, we don't have anything wild.
Unless it's a large reservation filled with crackheads.

Wow. That sucks so hard. I'm sorry for that suckiness. That's like 1984 style society. Prostitution is OK but Camping is not:confused: That's ok, get a fixed blade anyway, BRKT rules!

If this forum didn't exist I wouldn't own any Busses and would be none the wiser. But thank God this forum does exist and I now own several Busses I don't really need.

Thanks to bladeforums I have been very interested in neck knives for quite some time now and plan on getting one (and probably more after that) soon. I have no need for one, I won't wear one around my neck, I have no reason to.

But I still want one :D

Well, we don't have much wild in the Netherlands.
Pretty much its all farmland, towns and cities.
With some nature parks thrown in.

You can go in some of those parks but have to stay on the paths.
Some are real designer parks, some resemble real forest (not really actually) or grassland.
You just can't go strolling into the woods, set up a tent and make a fire..

I think this is true for a lot of parts of Europe.

EDIT
It's funny to me you come from the USA and talk about my country being like 1984.
I feel exactly the same about the USA since a few years.
(Can be detained without right to lawyer and trial)

Sorry to re-direct this back to the OP, but I just bought an Opinel #9 like that. Never had any interest AT ALL, read something in a thread and bang, I'm on Opiknives and 5 minutes later pulling out the plastic. Should be here in a couple days . . . at least it was only 15 bucks. I'm sure a lot of guys have done it with $200+ knives.

Most of my knives are for that same use, hunting, camping, fishing or firemaking. I still love a simple EDC for cutting boxes, paracord or peeling an apple.

I have done that though, seen a cool knife and just bought it because it was a cool knife.

I know that feeling....I still make fires in my BBQ and my firepit for forging though :)

Oh, really? Name one person within the US (US citizen or foreign national) who has been detained without a right to a lawyer and trial. Name just one. It's not possible because it's not true.

Oh, you mean people overseas in war zones who wage war against civilians or against US soldiers without being in uniform (or wearing an identifying insignia) or observing the other conventions on war? Yes, a few hundred were sent to Guantanamo. (They actually do have lawyers, by the way.) And no, they don't get trials because they are illegal combatants. Since prisoners of war don't get trials (or released until hostitilities are concluded), why should illegal combatants?

But I digress.

Yep. It's weird reading about people here going hunting and camping in the wild.

People carrying a pistol or revolver as their EDC.
Then reading about some kid being arrested for carrying a crossbow over here and people agreeing.

It's ILLEGAL to camp and hunt in Norway? My god, I think I'd just end it all. Wow.... seriously? I'm sorry buddy

Let's not make this a political thread guys.

Let's just not.

Any more politics and I will have to intervene.
Please don't take this thread off-topic.
