Yep. It's weird reading about people here going hunting and camping in the wild.
People carrying a pistol or revolver as their EDC.
Then reading about some kid being arrested for carrying a crossbow over here and people agreeing.
Oh, really? Name one person within the US (US citizen or foreign national) who has been detained without a right to a lawyer and trial. Name just one. It's not possible because it's not true.
Oh, you mean people overseas in war zones who wage war against civilians or against US soldiers without being in uniform (or wearing an identifying insignia) or observing the other conventions on war? Yes, a few hundred were sent to Guantanamo. (They actually do have lawyers, by the way.) And no, they don't get trials because they are illegal combatants. Since prisoners of war don't get trials (or released until hostitilities are concluded), why should illegal combatants?
But I digress.
