I realized it today. Priority Mail international Small Flat rate box gone upto 16.95 from 13.95. EMI price went up quite a bit too.

Even USPS First class international went up quite a bit....

Can someone confirm this? Is it with immediate effect?

Short answer - Yes.

The single largest increase that I have noted so far has been in the cost of USPS International Express Mail Flat Rate Envelope, the discounted online price was $27.55 and now there is no discount regardless of where the label/postage is printed/purchased and the price skyrocketed up to $38.00.

These increases went into effect on January 22, 2012.

All prices increased on 1-22-12.
Everything from first class to priority mail, domestic and international.
Some increases as little as one cent, some up a few dollars.

Last week it cost me apx $2.75 to ship 2 oz mailers first class International, now its on the cheap end of $3.50 and in some cases over $4. My first class USA shipments are $.19 cheaper though now that Delivery confirmation is free when you print labels on paypal.

I noticed that too. I have a friend in the UK who from time to time has knives shipped to me from different retailers here in the US. After the knives have arrived, I consolidate them and ship them onward to him in a single package -- typically using a USPS Express Mail International Flat Rate Envelope with a small box inside. I just sent a few his way, and wasn't too pleasantly surprised when I went to create the mailing label and saw that $10+ jump on the price of the Flat Rate Envelope. :(

Another blow against international knife deals

What with currency fluctuations dollar/euro and weak global economies getting American knives and supporting American dealers is getting tougher all the time:grumpy:

We all need a break:thumbup:

Bring back the Deutschmark! :D

When I was in Germany in 1967, we got 4 DM for a dollar. One DM would buy a mug of local beer with a bratwurst and mustard on a roll. At the brewery!
