Im in the market for my Dream Knife, a knife Ive always wanted but never saw myself spending the money to get it, my Dream Knife is a Zero Tolerance 303. I know that its not really a Grail knife for most collectors or high end enthusiasts, but its more than Ive ever spent on one knife.

I am hopefully going to purchase this knife from KershawGuy, as long as he doesnt run out of stock or anything. Even though there is a bit of a price difference Dave is a an amazing seller to deal with and a person I enjoy and trust to buy from.

However, I was looking around online to find a good backup plan incase Dave ran out, or something came up, before I made my purchase. I found a Seller on Ebay who gave me a great price but I wanted to make sure it isnt too good to be true. The Seller seems like a good guy and I dont think he's a scammer, but I want to be sure. The only things that threw up red flags were: The price, but if he is a new seller and/or needs the cash then it makes sence. His feedback score- 100% but only 25 transactions, but like I said- if he is a new seller it makes sence. He said he sold out of these knives, but is ordering more, but Ebay says he has one available but it could just be to attrack buyers. And because he is out of stock, he asked for payment up front before he orders the shipment because the knives are pricey... which could be plausible if he is a new seller, he only has a few knives for sale and only two are higher end. His Ebay Seller ID is 'deansdistribution' and I dont know if he is a BF member or not.

PLEASE do not assume that he is a scam artist until we KNOW for sure that he is, and if he is not then he is a nice guy selling an amazing knife for a great price. I dont want to ruin a mans name because I asked a question, so please dont make any assumptions about this Seller unless someone has PROOF that he is a bad guy, and if no proof comes up then he must not be a scammer, so dont treat him as such.

And if youre wondering why Im asking about this seller if I already have a good trusted seller in mind, this seller is my plan B for this purchase.. And I buy alot of knives and other things on Ebay, and I recommend knives and sellers to friends who arnt knife guys, and IF he is a scammer I want to know for future purchases for myself, my friends, and my BF brothers.

Make sure you pay with Paypal or postal M.O. and you should be covered. Both will help you if it goes south. Remember- if you use Paypal "gift" you can NOT dispute the transaction.

I would not prepay for anything out of stock on eBay

I dont know what is going on. I sell one the online auctions all of the time and I allways get paid before I ship there knife to them. I just bought a knife from some one here on this site and I did't wait I paid in advance. if it is a switchblade or some othere knife that paypal does not like then they will not let you buy the knife useing them and that is why I only take money orders for payment.

Near as i can figure deansdistribution is a drop shipper working out of indiana. The reason he wants payment up front is so that he can source the cheapest item and have it shipped to you. This raises a red flag for me, as he could feasably have your money tied up past the 45 day claims process thru paypal:

He also has an account on alibaba, which means that some of the knives he is selling may or may not be authentic, this is a second red flag:

It looks like he had a field day Spamming Knifeforums and here at Bladeforums last month. I removed his post as he did not have the proper membership to sell here. He has not returned since. I sent email thru his profile giving him the site specifics and links to upgrade. He has not done so and i will now need to ban him as Spam.

Although i can find no negative feedback for him, It's up to you if you want to take a chance with your money.
Personally, i would patronise KershawGuy, he has a proven track record. Sometimes peace of mind is worth the extra cost.

Thanks for info Karda. I was only thinking of buying from him as a last resort, if KershawGuy ran out of stock or something. I really hope he doesnt, KershawGuy is someone I trust and like to buy from. Ive asked Dave if he thought he would have the 303s in stock later this week and he said he has plenty so I am relieved. So now that I know Dave will still have 303s, I am definitely buying from him.. peace of mind is always worth the extra money, not to mention Ill be getting my knife within 3 business days which is always a plus. :D

Thanks again Karda. And thank you everybody else!

I pulled the trigger on the ZT 303! I purchased from Dave, of course. My baby should be here this week sometime... Theres no estimated date of arrival, but Im guessing no later than Weds. hopefully. Its nice to have peace of mind when sending that much money for something you want sooooo bad. I cant wait to have her in my hands. :D Thanks again for all the input guys!
