Has your EDC changed since 9/11

I travel a lot. I've just purchased a Spyderco Endura to accompany me in my checked luggage. (Reasonably priced should it get lost / stolen).

When I'm home, my EDC's haven't changed:
-Leatherman Micra
-Pelican L1 LED
-Surefire E2
-Small Sebenza
-Busse Assault Shaker, and / or Endura

Since I work at a Govt. building, my daily carry is now non-existent. I cannot carry anything in the building; no knife, no fingernail file or anything. My carry at home is pretty much the same. Darrel Ralph Arclite neck knife in carbon fiber and 420V around my neck, and anyone of a number of linerlock folders clipped to my pocket. Usually, a Benchmade mini TSEK, but sometimes a SERE 2000 or a large Calypso.

there was a company the Trade Center that, after the bombing in 1991, issued an emergency kit to all employees: flashlite, dust mask and bottle of water, with tape to attach it under every desk chair. That company did not loose any employees in the attack.
That company was a Japanese firm. After the first plane hit, everyone began to leave, but some "authority" made an announcement that everything was under control, and they could return to their offices. The Japanese management people went back, and died when the tower fell; the American staff ignored the announcement and made it out OK.

Ya gotta think for yourself. I carry what I always did, but I carry my Supertool again, which I sometimes didn't during the summer.

When I lived in Manhattan and walked home through Central Park, at night, I liked to carry a dagger IWB at the small of my back. Very discreet, easy to get to, pure defense, though, not much use opening cans and bottles.

First of all, that long-bearded s###-faced Usama needs a rectal exam. We can all provide the tools for that, right?

Seriously, even if I live in Sweden, one starts to think extra about one's personal security after such a major attack.
I will carry larger folders as a result of this, not to protect myself from falling airplaines, but as I realize that the world has become even unfriendlier since this. This could happen anywhere in the world, even if USA and Israel seems to be the main target.

Hope they will smoke this guy out from whatever rock he's hiding under...

The only change in my EDC is that I started carrying my 1911 Commander instead of my Glock 22C. I still rotate between the Spyderco Police or Wegner. Oh, I bought a new Galco Jackass rig to fit the 1911.

Since my first post I got a Glock 27 that is ready to roll and goes with me everywhere!
Its much smaller than my 1911 and holds MORE bullets....I like that! :)

I actually went to buy a Sig P239. Looked at Barretta, Walther, Glock and others.

This Micro Compact 1911 REALLY caught my eye though, and seems to fit me much better.

My EDC has not changed (Kershaw Boa), but I am more cautious about things now. Although it looks like I won't be sneaking my knife on a plane anytime soon (uhhh...not that I have before or anything...).

My EDC is still the Arkansas Toothpick from Bob Dozier. I love that knife. The 20" Sirupati from Uncle Bill is just too big for EDC. :D

I went from carrying a MT SOCOM Elite to carrying Emersons. Recently though I have found my favorite rotation. A Dale Reif Atrox and a DDR Krait Boot knife. I wanna go out in style!:)

yeah I swaped a MT LCC D/A for a MT UT6. call me crazy. i look at it this way. the last time I was patted down was 12 years ago. I don't plan on being in a position to be searched so I'm not worried about what is in my pocket.
